Really ? That's strange ... they didn't appear in my local Aldi. Can you remember what price they were selling for ?
I *think 1.99 for a longneck, I'll check again next time i'm there...if they still happen to be on the shelf.
They were in mine as well in what is the rockers paradise of Connemara. I'll be in later and check the price if they haven't been snapped up.
Great advice.
Thanks for the beer deal.
Sorry it wasn't trooper ale it's the sun and Steel sake lager. Looks like they've sold 1 bottle since last week!!
Boards put it up sideways, not me!
None sold in mine. They might discount them in a few weeks.
Thanks for that. I've had the Sun & Steel before - I enjoyed it. Got a slab of 500ml cans delivered for €38 when it was first released. Not sure a 330ml bottle is worth €2.29
Nice beer, very smooth, your paying for the brand though. I got 15 for the bus up to the gig last weekend in Dublin. No bottle opener though so we were made work me and the buddy to open them with a key!
DOH!!!😤
Fcuk it ... just spotted in the Aldi near my job ... grabbed a few for later. Up The Irons
Fantastic gig ... best I've seen Maiden in a long while.
Whoever runs the supervalu site isn't so good with the maths. €75 a litre...
buying beer a depressing business these days. With cans being so expensive, it's almost worth going large and getting nice bottled beers - but when it comes to buying 500ml bottles they are always sold individually, which is a pain the hole. 330ml bottles are a waste of space (literally).
If anyone can advise of somewhere that sells 500ml bottles by the box, it would be appreciated.
The only deals worth going for these days are wine and spirits. MUP is a disgrace
Depends what you’re looking for, I’ve often seen SuperValu selling 568ml bottles of Guinness, smithwicks and harp in 12 bottle boxes. Think they around €25-€28
Big fan of that Kronenberg Blanc they're selling in Tesco for 16 quid for a 12 pack once ya have a Tesco clubcard.
Proper quality imho
Dunnes have 20% off all wine and champagne until Tuesday 4th July.
Ah me aul Mucker!
She wouldn't let me put up the motorized dish in the new house. Just IPTV but its a 4k jobby so happy out!
Now It's just beer bargains & Live footy via IPTV lol.
Hope all's well
@Mods can we change the title of thread to "Wines and Spirits Deals?
For me and many others the fun has gone out of it since MUP has all but removed any decent bargains on Lager / Stout / cider etc.
Again I'll say it. It's ironic that we have made it more attractive to an Alcoholic to buy bottles of whiskey or wine than a few cans. Madness. Anyway sorry lads that's for a different thread.
RIP Booze Deals. I have some fond memories of this over the years from following to then posting. Some of my favorites were:
€10 euro for 20 bottles of Heineken
€15 euro for proper 24 can slabs
3 x 660ml Krombacher for €5
Gone but never forgotten
Nanny State madness has ruined all of that.
So long lads.
Dunnes:
Hope Hop-On Session IPA 440ml 4.3% €2.00 (MUP €1.49)
over €3.00 in most other shops
No need to read this poor journalism. The title "Beer consumption below 2019 levels" says all that the whole article has to say. No analysis = poor journalsim, not a mention of MUP effect, not a mention of beer flowing over the border from reasonably priced NI.
He forgot to mention the massive price hike in pubs since 2019 either.
Anyone spot any Booze Deals recently? I need a drink.🍺
Fraid best I can do is 20% off Organic wine in Dunnes Stores.
https://www.dunnesstoresgrocery.com/sm/delivery/rsid/258/organic-wine?t=ow
Organic = waste of money
Any offers on Carlsberg around ?
Minimum price for Carlsberg (4.3%) is €3.40/liter
15x500ml for €25.50 (€3.40/l)
8x500 for €14.00 (3.50/l)
Tesco:
15x500ml €25.50 w/ clubcard (€3.40/l)
Yes and no. I often buy organic stuff even if slightly more expensive purely because of quality \ taste factors. It seems to indicate more care \ attention put into the product. Even if you don't buy into the whole ethos of it.
And in this case, you're not even paying extra, maybe even less than a regular wine :)
I picked up a Grand Vin de Bordeaux for €8.56, which at 14.5% isn't far off MUP.
Just note in my Dunnes the discount isn't marked on the shelf but comes off at the till. Best to review the list before you buy:
You do well now to get a box of 20 Heino bottles for €25. I remember when they were €12 on bank holiday deals. Good times!!
Any decent cans of sour beer recommendations?
On the hunt for some nice tipples for All Together Now in a couple of weeks if anyone sees any good craft/tasty cans going.
Lough Gill cans in aldi are nice €1.99
