He probably did but it appears it was a box ticking exercise, but I’d be fairly sure from what I’ve heard, it may not be as sure for Patrick Kielty. RT wont be on his Christmas card list if what tubs did fecks his deal up.
He certainly came across very well and a lot more impressive than some of their "senior" ministers. Now admittedly, this is based on his performance today but we need a lot more direct questions and calling out of things where they don't add up like he did today.
I'd be surprised if they have a host for this coming season. RTE have also put it almost entirely on Kielty to agree to having his contract and salary made public.

Relax, he's only getting 500k a year. The additional 500k is a cost saving to us, otherwise he might walk and be picked up by a queue of other broadcasters who never wanted him in the first place.
