Much like the way when all the John Delaney saga came to the boil Dunphy was rightfully disgusted with all that carry-on, I didn't doubt his sincerity. He gave plenty of quotes to the authors of Champagne Football about the deliciously gormless details of JD's 50th birthday, which were some of the more colorful stories that helped bury him in the eyes of the public - but I also didn't doubt that he was happy enough to do his bit of cheerleading when the good times were rolling and the wind was blowing in a different direction, and, despite how awful he found the birthday, he still accepted the invitation and went - and had a great night too, no doubt. Showbiz baby!
Don't get me wrong, I like Dunphy and he can call a spade a spade, albeit, typically when it's blindingly obvious and it's what a lot of people want to hear - but he is a bit of a spoofer Bill!

- Renault sponsor RT for a few appearances or whatever for 75k pa.
- RTE give Renault a credit note so that Renault get free advertising, i.e., they "sponsor" RT for zero cost.
- That means RTE is actually paying RT the 75k.
BUT WAIT, THERE'S MORE!!!!!
- RTE for some fcuking bizarre reason also pay for hospitality expenses for Renault
- RTE also pays agents fee and barter accounts fees to pay RT 75k but pretend Renault is paying
- This costs RTE tens of thousands so they can pretend RT got a pay cut.
Now, I'm sure there's some perfectly innocent and reasonable explanation for this. Just let me figure it out.

Actually a serious question has RT salary decreased now he is not on the LLS. How much was for 2 hours on a Friday and 5 hours for the radio. Both he does not do for 52 weeks
Yep, it's happened a few times. The Labour Senator on VM, who is also on the PAC - didn't know the name of the RTE Chair - Siún Ní Raghallaigh - and referred to her a couple of times as Siofra, before she was corrected. The other politico on VM - FG's John "Twix" McGahon - gave some boilerplate tough talk about calling them all in.
Politicians are loving this. Everyone is singing from the same hymn sheet and they can stick it to RTE all day long - and the day after that as well.
