Much like the way when all the John Delaney saga came to the boil Dunphy was rightfully disgusted with all that carry-on, I didn't doubt his sincerity. He gave plenty of quotes to the authors of Champagne Football about the deliciously gormless details of JD's 50th birthday, which were some of the more colorful stories that helped bury him in the eyes of the public - but I also didn't doubt that he was happy enough to do his bit of cheerleading when the good times were rolling and the wind was blowing in a different direction, and, despite how awful he found the birthday, he still accepted the invitation and went - and had a great night too, no doubt. Showbiz baby!
Don't get me wrong, I like Dunphy and he can call a spade a spade, albeit, typically when it's blindingly obvious and it's what a lot of people want to hear - but he is a bit of a spoofer Bill!

Now in fairness Eamon Dunphy also dragged handy money out of rte over the years with his poor effort at football punditry and all he’s at is trying to keep himself in the limelight like lots of other has been like the puke footballer, twink etc. so what he has to say with a pinch of salt.
Two presenters one earning a quarter of a million the other on 100k plus probably presenting a current affairs program tfst is on twice a week ( and mind you there is another two presenters as well) an hour long as the majority of there work output a week.

Just read the RTE statement what a load of boloney. If there accounts were correct (which they can't be as salaries were wrong) how was the extra payments accounted. Also as the board is it not there job to make sure its all correct and as they did not do that there was a dereliction of duty so should all be fired on the spot. So convenient to frame the one person who is not there and has been fired. Also there attempts to protect RT and the agent was sickening. Hiding behind investigations which could take months is sickening.
Also Darcy's I do not have an agent while technically correct as they are agents of his Ltd company is such arrogance
But let's argue against that case anyway... a company the size and national importance as RTE had ONE person in knowledge of salaries?? How can that be legit?
