Maybe. I’d have to see if we have evidence of the damaged tyre.
Small claims court ??
Don't hold your breath...
No. Not yet anyway.
Did VW give you anything for the tyres you had to replace?
Yep great fun on an exit off a motorway with kids in the year old car. I’m glad nobody was injured.
Seriously dangerous looking failure for a top brand tyre;
I replaced all 4 Goodyears for Michelin after about 10k as I found the grip dreadful on them in the wet. The Michelin are a vastly better in my experience. Fingers crossed the new one doesn’t come with Goodyears!
Just coming back to this.
there is a recall on factory fitted Goodyear tyres. It appears there have been several reports of the inner sidewall failing. This happened us last October when we had a blowout and we were asked to pay for two new tyres.
potentially serious safety issue so do check to see if your car is affected.
we were lucky not to be travelling at full speed when it happened but had a nasty 90 minute wait with two five year olds behind the barrier in wet grass until we were rescued.
I recon it is the full signature DRLs then

Thanks for reply. It’s the facelift pro, I added the matrix lights as an extra the “outer ambient lighting variant 3” comes with that added package. The dealer didn’t know and thought it maybe the lights on the door handles. Just wondered did anyone know on here.
There's only two variants either the basic led lights front and back with the eyebrow DRLs.
Or
Full matrix led lights/taillights with the full length light bar DRLs what car is it ?
Anyone know what this is “outer ambient lighting (variant 3)” on the id3?
Perhaps someone else could confirm, but does the higher power motor allow for greater re gen ability before needing to use brake pads?
That’s what I was hoping! Thanks so much @adunis
Appreciably better mid range acceleration,no range penalties whatsoever
Hi,
Can any of you explain in simple terms what effect 145HP versus 204HP would have on day to day running of the ID3? Contemplating buying a 2022 model, 145HP.
Thanks in advance!
Ok, zero idea what I did different but S pin is no longer asked for ( via the car screen user settings asked not to need S pin, almost certain I did that three time the day previous any ways, two drives no S pin needed ).
Next question, I have my pdf manual for my MY 22, re the timed charging/charging locations settings etc is all that still accurate? - having trouble understanding the exact actions of each setting and over riding etc.
You might be able to get around it by adding a new user, setting your details then, if it works, remove the first account.
I didn’t set a pin, looks like that was a good move, the user screen is annoying enough!
Nope, so in the car I go to where there is a toggle to switch it off, but it has a message that says you need to do this in app or via website. I load up app, and go to user settings , all I see is Forget S pin (?) which I think resets it?
I vaguely remember that bit. There is an option somewhere to disable that but I cant remember where it is or if its in the car or the app. I thought it was done in the car but I honestly dont remember.
Did you get it sorted?
Aviloo but it will cost you €100 approx

Thanks @KCross worked,
Another Q, is there a way to no need the S pin, everytime I try uncheck the need S pin box it re checks it and tells me to disbale it in the app - but all I see there is set a new S pin
When you put the car in park the screen will show you what settings it has active so even if you have location etc set it’s still possible it was set to charge immediately.
You need to ensure it’s sets to charge at “preferred times”… that can be set just before you get out on the exit screen.
Question re timed/location charging:
After my 3.2 update, I set Home and schedule to 22:00-07:00 everyday, charge to 80%. So to test I got out and plugged in at home expected it to sit there doing nothing till 22:00, but it started to charge immediately. Am doing something wrong?
Yes, all done, scanned a QR code and have things showing up no, of course no fuse pull needed.
for an app side issue?? Took my time scanned the bar code on the screen and have it working now. User error, not the car's fault.
I remember something similar after my 3.0 update. I had to sign into We Connect Services and the shop in the car to fix it. I don’t remember having to pull the fuse to get it working.
Isn't there more steps to do than just pull the fuse. Like he has to go through a set of steps and then pull it. As I remember someone on here just pulled the fuse and afair he had to go back to VW to plug in the car and clear the faults.
