Not a good look. I wonder did he go because this was going to come to light?

Matt Copper off air today. Matt is also with NKM.
No allegation of any wrongdoing, I'm just saying he's off air.
One that we know of. Nobody knows what else will come out but you can be sure there is more to come out.
I would imagine Yates knows a thing or two alright.
He'd certainly know how the media works..........and he knows an agent or two:
Yes, Ivan is in the NKM stable.
I don't care what any of them get, they're not worth it imo. However only one of the RTE crew had a hidden percentage of the wage and that's very suspicious.
It is the deceit that winds me up the most.
I reconciled the fact that Tubridy was an overpaid lush well over a decade ago. I have dealt with what an appalling disgrace his existence was and is.
But I cannot forgive the board and the Accountants at RTE for deliberately attempting to disguise his full salary.
Dee Forbes should massively fess up, absolutely spineless waving the flag at this, at least have the honesty to accept your actions.
Who are the AUDITORS , who are they please? They are responsible here also.
In fairness, there's 375k at stake to protect. Allegedly.
Michael Buble has dedicated a song to Ryan. Just the months in the lyrics slightly out.
His comments were echoed by Ivan Yates, a former Newstalk broadcaster and government minister, who also said the Tubridy scandal is “the ‘tip of the iceberg’ in terms of what is going on in the organisation and the way it operates
Thanks you that is good to hear as I hold Tom Lyons in very high regard and I am glad that he said and also done this.
Like you I would have more faith in The Currency covering this, I was just checking that they can do unbiased and un-compromised coverage of this story.
No, no, it's NBC, CNN etc.
🙄
CNN and Fox also.
Surely it should have been a BBQ lunch protest :)
I find the 120k from between 2017-19 the most interesting part of this - this has barely been discussed in comparison to the sponsorship/barter account stuff, in which case there has been some - far from ideal - explanation for. A lot of focus has gone into the underwriting of the sponsorship monies and the other amount, which RTE have said they have no explanation for, is kinda quietly sliding out of the media discussion bit by bit.
If the board genuinely knew nothing about this they will be far angrier than even the most outraged Joe Public, as they signed off on the published salaries putting their names to its accuracy.
It's conceivable that Ian Kehoe has said to Lyons give everybody involved in this both barrels.
Noel Kelly...International man of mystery.
He's the man with all the answers, I suppose client confidentiality will be pleaded. If his computers and laptops were seized we'd probably know 90% of stuff, maybe not if he keeps scant records.
Wont they have to though.. the list they disclose every year. But might be a while yet.
Im sure ITV/SKy/BBC etc are banging the door down at the moment trying to get Tubs, such a talent to be potentially available, once in a lifetime
Also on this, to be fair to Kehoe, it appears that one of the sub-committees he’s on were the ones who flagged this to the auditors. Was reported somewhere today, apologies I don’t have a link.
Can we keep ordinary public servants and their expenses out of this Tubridy/RTÉ quagmire.
While perhaps superstars and some Politicians might get to play silly buggers with unvouched expenses, regular folk do not. I regularly sign off on expenses for a public sector agency and sit on a governance committee for another public body. In both, expenses are paid after they are incurred and based on receipts and proof of the activity etc and sorry to disappoint but no magic gravy train to be found for the regular folk.
Why? Kielty has nothing to do with this mess
I haven't heard him, but would be interested to know what he said - as he is also represented by Noel Kelly.
President Ryan Tubridy perhaps. If he gets more votes than Bertie...
This is not a personal attack on Joe Duffy.
But how is anyone who hosts an agony aunt programme worth €350,000 per year? Like Tubridy at least had a weekly live TV show on top of a radio show.
He may be dead correct in disclosing his figures, so no wrong doing. But whoever felt he was worth that needs their head examined. Being paid that kind of money would make a person think they are very very important.
Now you're talking.
He knew about every cent but announced he was taking a pay cut.
One thing all the various scandals have in common, they often eventually float to the surface like a corpse nefariously disposed of in water. Of course there must be plenty which don’t do in a timely manner, but on the whole we eventually tend to hear of stuff although individuals and organisations may have suffered great damage in the meantime.
Is the Toy Show musical going ahead this year? I heard it's being sponsored by Renault.
I don’t think you can question their bonafides on this.
Tom Lyons was asked about it today and said he questioned Kehoe on this from a “have you done anything wrong here?” point of view. Kehoe replied in the negative. He also stated that he informed Kehoe he can have no part in the Currency’s reporting of the story, either as a writer or editorially.
Lyons has been everywhere on this from Primetime to a variety of Radio shows. He has absolutely filleted RTÉ, Tubridy, Kelly, and Forbes at every opportunity. He has not held back.
let me put it this way, I would have immeasurably more faith in The Currency covering this from now on than RTÉ.
They will have to at some point if he is in the Top 10.

People on here are still (bizarrely IMO) defending the two x €75,000 payments from ‘21 and ‘22 and the majority of the focus seems to be on those two.
What was striking about Dee Forbes resignation letter was that even she claims to not know the source of reasons for the payments from 2017-19; which can only mean there are others involved. I never really had much time for Forbes, but she didn’t act alone in crafting these payments, or concealing them.
There’s clearly a lot more to come from this story.
Have they come out with Kielty's deal yet? That should be interesting...
