The people in RTE involved, Tubridy, NK etc are all culpable

It will not be just "Tubsidy" payments but a combination of factors, RTE and other broadcast media have been losing relevance with the public since their heyday, let's call it the "Gay Byrne" era for want of a better term. Even the BBC funding model and its future are in question. There was some controversy earlier this year around GAA matches and RTE, I did not pay it much attention. It seems whether the public who watch RTE, and those who don't, want it change is coming, the Montrose begging bowl will not be allowed to continue in its current form indefinitely recycling clips from times past.
So much for getting answers and accountability, Dee resigns, is that it then? She signs off by having a swipe at the RTE boards for not having respect for her as a colleague or person during the process which she claims has had a negative effect on her well being. So typical deflection tactics, she’s now the victim in all this. If that’s the reason behind resigning, it’s quite disgraceful. Maybe though she now intends to contribute as a private citizen and unfettered by her duties to RTÉ? Maybe? Possibly??
She resigns and misses out on a week's wages as a result. Good riddance to her, she did nothing to bring rampant waste, incompetence and nepotism in RTE under control.
I assume we'll see her as head of some Quango or other state body. She has a fair bit of dirt on a lot of people.

I said this years ago around the time Bertie Aherne claimed not to have a bank account, but the unquestioned/punished actions of high level politicians like Haughey, Aherne and plenty more like them across the parties really give carte blance for the morally flexible in society to justify their own dodgy dealings. We really are a soft touch with this type of thing.
Her position is she didn't know anything about it. So not sure what usefulness she'd be anyway at a committee hearing.

During his tenure he has forced very mediocre modern music, reality TV stars with no talent and cliched vulgar comedy at us .... while telling us how 'lucky' we are to watch such 'treats' .... meanwhile he blocked just about everything else .... it seems clear that he and the terrible acts he promoted down the years are all in this money grabbing game sharing the spoils and blocking everyone else .... it is time to end this farce ....

The money that all these people are on is obscene .... they are afterall only PART TIME workers .... if they were in any other industry they'd be paid based on the number of hours they work .... Tubridy is on 7 and a quarter hours but he paid better than anyone in the country as far as I know ... he does not deserve the money he gets for the number of hours he does ...
RTE need to set a base rate per hour for the employees and contractors just like it is in every other sector .... let's be generous and give him 100 per hour .... then he'd get 725 per week .... that is a good deal for a 7 and a quarter hour week .... even too generous at that ....
After this RTE can no longer justify these guys' ridiculous salaries for short jobs whether contracted or not ... Pat Kenny was once on near a cool million a year .... he was on a similar workload to Tubbers ... doing the LLS and later the Frontline plus a radio show ....
Remember that IRA fella then attacked Kenny on the Frontline ?? .... Do not agree with the cause of disso republicanism but this guy had a point regarding Kenny's obscene salary .... his typical disso CIRA/RIRA mad man waving a shillelagh type rant was not the most effective way of getting the message across but the message about Kenny's salary was correct ....
Why and when exactly was the time that broadcasters and TV/radio personalities gotten such ridiculous money to do an easy job?? Why has society decided to reward these clowns as the elite and most well paid of society?? ... brain surgeons or cancer specialists they are not .... these types do easy work that requires not much skill and work that is not important ... if all chatshows and radio shows disappeared the world would still go on and they would not be missed .... it is time that the status these guys receive is re-evaluated and they are paid by the number of hours they do and not given the obscene money they currently get .... these people's pay is an insult to those who study long and hard to be in essential professions .... essential is one thing Tubbers and his ilk never were ...
