No , it’s an estate with business only
So! Two weeks into driving MYLR now and a few things I wonder if others have figured out.
1) Do people actually find Tesla Vision useful? Is there a way to turn it off? Everytime I'm in slow traffic, I am getting beeps and boops and warnings like there's no tomorrow. Reversing into my own driveway causes sounds like it's a major emergency.
2) Has anyone found a good solution to not having Android Auto/Apple Carplay? Spotify and Maps are great on the Tesla, but (having come from a Volvo) I really miss being able to get the car read out WhatsApp messages and send WhatsApps by voice via the car.
3) How does everyone find auto headlights? My car keeps switching on full beams in residential areas with streetlights - it does work well at dimming when there's oncoming traffic, but it's definitely annoying for pedestrians when the full beams come on in urban areas.
Thanks!
I was going to say that tesla vision is fine intil I caught a curb in a tight spot and tore a side of my rear left tyre earlier today. Couldn't see much in the side camera until it was too late. Ordered a new one but at €193 w/o installation. Funny enough that I put on the aftermarket black alloy covers on Thursday and curbed the same wheel twice. Probably was more curb aware with standard wheel cover in the previous 3 months and 7k km.
Headlights are indeed annoying in the lit up areas so I turn off the auto headlight as well. VW cars always turn the light off when they detect any street lights.
I really don’t mind tesla vision. I always air on the side of caution when in tight spaces but generally I find it ok. The headlights are extremely bright and people flash you. I understand that Tesla have them configured but I’m wondering is it that the led are just really really bright or they are actually aligned wrong and blinding people. I get as an SUV you’re sitting higher up… what’s the thoughts?
The lights can be adjusted in the settings, I think under service. 2 clicks down on each light seems to stop drivers flashing you.
USS would not have stopped you kerbing the wheel IMO.
Exactly, it said stop once you were within 30cm anyway with USS.
is the tire repair kit worth the money. €85 seems a bit steep for a portable air pump and sealant?
I don’t mind paying it once the quality of it is decent.
anyone here have it?
I got these on Amazon. Hopefully, I'll never need them.
has anyone retrofitted a tow bar. The tesla price is spicey.
Get a generic one from Amazon.
Is it really something that you would attempt yourself??
The rear bumper has to come off to fit it. The ranger will come to you and do it in about 2 hours. Full warranty then too.
Thinking of a MY - The ride quality on some of the videos I’ve been looking at on YT point to a very stiff suspension and uncomfortable ride. In the real world and on Irish roads what’s the consensus.
My March 2023 RWD is boneshaking although I'm mostly used to it at this stage - still grit the teeth approaching a big pothole though. ID4 was far superior, indeed all my previous cars were but, to be fair, they tended to be 'comfort' oriented. I haven't checked (forgot TBH) but I do wonder if my car has the notorious 'old' suspension. Despite Tesla swearing that all 2023 cars were coming with more comfortable suspension, some - including in Ireland - have had a gander and found parts from the old suspension. On would think that at this stage they'd definitely all have the comfort suspension (pinky promise!) but, hey, this is Tesla we're talking about....
I was thinking a professional fit just not by Tesla might be half price ?
1) TV is notoriously flakey at best. Tesla imho made a mistake removing the USS. I've been in a USS equipped MY and even though it's also technically TV, it's a lot better than TV-only.
2) I don't think you can get WhatsApp integration via the car. Could you enable Google assistant and say loudly "Hey Google" (to activate assistant). "Send message to X on WhatsApp... (Dictate your message)"
3) others here have suggested adjusting the lights in settings. Probably worth a go.
yes €1500 .. spicy indeed, is was out of stock so I had to book it as a service request
I put a deposit on a MY almost 2 weeks when the sale was on.
If I'm going to cancel do i need to cancel within 14 days of paying the deposit? Or do I have more time?
Anytime before collection
You could also just postpone pickup till later in the year.
If you do that you'll lose the discounted car for sure. I can't see a 232 reg being worth the discount of €3200 plus the difference in grant €1500 for the next car (€4700 overall)
Very true, I was thinking more of keeping the price as is, if the price were to go up 1500 overnight you will have the lower price.
Fully agree, if they can get the car now, get it and keep the discount.
Some Inventory cars with towbars discounted by €3K if you don’t have your car collected yet ?
have the car 2 months
Is that a flash sale on existing inventory model y long range this morning?
can you pay off tesla finance after a few weeks? i.e use it as a bridge loan without penalty?
Making Payments for Your Vehicle | Tesla Support
The T&C or FAQ seem to suggest loan can be paid off without having to pay the "potential" cost/interests to the loan issuer...?
Started yesterday evening. T&C will say pay for and collect before 30th June.
Is it always difficult to get sales on the phone? I am wondering what the story with the grant is if purchasing right now! Will it be honoured?
edit update; they expect to push through before deadlines but it's tight. Took 20 min wait time, don't know if they don't employ many or there's just peak demand this morning. They offer auto call back but I wanted to be sure I spoke with someone
On my BOI HP you can pay off early without penalty
So if you order a discounted car June 30th, will they not honor the price? since it would not be possible to be delivered by end Q2...
