Some people aren't always solely motivated by money, he seems to be equally motivated by power and a lot of this seems to be the result of a long-running spat between him and the heads of the Russian military.
I think you will see resignations of the Russian Military Command this evening.
Resignations as in, falling out of open windows?
Once the initial panic is over, I expect Russian command to quash this fairly rapidly, especially the gumball rally to Moscow. If Prigozhin can survive 48 hours I'll be very impressed.
Very very dangerous situation for the world.
Is there any nuclear weapons based on Rostov-On-Don as it's a military stronghold? A mercenary group with that capability is just insane and has me a bit freaked out.
While wagner troops tried to "talk"
Looks like Putin is lucky again
I just wonder is this why Prigozhin was so hell bent on taking Bakhmut with a view to an eventual showdown with the Russian MOD? I am not so sure the west are involved in this or were encouraging it. I think this very scenario unfolding would unsettle them in a nuclear armed state.
I don't think so. There must be a reason that there is minimum resistance on the way to Moscow. I don't believe they want Urban Warfare on the streets of Moscow.
What? Chechens are only committed to tiktok and shooting at traffic lights.
Also given Prigozhin's reputation and his Militas actions in Ukraine and Africa is this the sort of guy you want to throw your lot in with it. It does not seem plausible to me. The west would be backing a more progressive figure if anything.
I think its increasingly feasible that there will be an announcement in the coming days from the top Russian generals that Putin is ‘unwell’ and has been taken into custody for his own well-being.
We could see a replay of the 1991 coup with an attempt by the Russian High Command to take control of the situation
Why aren’t you drinking ?
Monday has been declared a "non working day" in Moscow by the Mayor.
Art galleries and public spaces in Moscow are being evacuated
It looks like will be making it to the edges of Moscow at least. But it appears that Putin only has the police force and the National Guard left as protection.
putin has a lot of enemies within russia, this is their chance, Wagner might have a few friends
The US are loving this. Russia cannibalising itself, and the US making hand over fist on weaponry
Ukranian intelligence must be laughing their heads off at all this. We could see an end to the war in Ukraine in a matter of days if Prigozhin is not arrested or killed within the next 48 hours. If he is not you would have to suspect he made this move because he has the backing of powerful figures inside Russia who want out of this war. Be they oligarchs or senior political and military figures.
Kadyrov effectively has his own private army and they are desperate.
Kadyrov needs Putin to survive for himself to survive. The only reason he has so much power and influence is because his father switched sides in the Chechen war. His fathe was later assassinated and he took over
Without Moscow's backing, Kadyrov is fucked. He'll be desperate to see Putin stay in charge and the people fighting for him will be similarly motivated. That and they're Islamic fundamentalists.
The Russian air force has not blasted the Wagners to bits (just a few pot shots to show the are 'resisting the rebellion') so it is clearly an inside job. Possible explanations are
It could be that the fake Putin making appearances has effectively been put under house arrest and is being used as a mouthpiece for these events while the real Putin has been abandoned and is sitting in his bunker wondering why his phone line went dead, lol. (I'm just thinking out loud here, I don't claim to know what is going on but I'm convinced that this is not what it seems to be.)
Has to be someone behind this and backing Wagner. It will be interesting who comes out of the shadows. If reports are true of the distance they are from Moscow if there is no one in their way trying to stop them you may see them in the kremlin some time tonight.

Sky News have a live cam on Moscow now. How the tables have turned 😂

I'm sure you'll find out soon enough...lol.
He's known to have supporters in the Russian military, people who aren't happy with Shoigu and co. He rolled into Rostov without a shot being fired.
Putin's national guard, the Rosgvardia are loyal to Putin, they are being deployed in Moscow at the moment. Prigozhin is up against it, but if he isn't taken out or defused in the next 48 hours it could be a headache for Putin. I reckon the Ru military will get its act together, martial law will be declared and they'll take out the bulk of Wagnerites on the road to Moscow. Then they'll focus on Rostov and Prigozhin, if he's not killed in a missile strike (or assassinated) in the interim.
...
Especially for the day that's in it.. 😂
Seems like they would be better heading to Moscow as no one seems to be engaging Wagner along the way
Sack of salt, but apparently Wagnarites are close to Kashira which is 2 hours drive from Moscow
😂😂😂
The road from Rostov to Moscow is over 1000km and takes 12hours according to google maps. It would be easy for the airforce to pick them off so why aren’t they? They best they can muster is some lorries to block it. Must be a refusal to fight them. Perhaps this is a lot more precarious for Putin than first thought.
