Apparently one of the key bridges south of Moscow has been closed
It will be interesting to see this play out.
I would expect a media blackout in Russia by the end of the day.
So Zelensky then?
(hopefully)
If only we could get Georgia to move on South Ossetia and Moldova on transistria (unlikely next to no military) the whole powder keg could go up
he will have no choice but to get rid of putin if he gets that far
as to what prigozhin would do in ukraine if he took power in russia is anyone's guess .. end the war as there was no justification for it or double down is hard to know
putin has been a survivor the last 20+ years, has the russian army and nuclear codes for now so one would imagine he could deal with a mere band of 25,000 escaped criminals but stranger things have happened...
When those rebels in Belgorod caused trouble a couple of weeks ago, there was similar speculation that dealing with them would impact Russia's ability to continue prosecuting the SMO. It didn't, really. A lot of that was probably down to the size of the rebel force - it's going to be relatively easy to put down a group with a few APCs and a tank - but I don't think 25,000 Wagnerites is going to be enough to mount a political overthrow by itself, and even if Putin does have to order some military forces back, he has plenty who are not currently holding the front line to do it with.
But that all assumes that Putin retains the loyalty of all of the necessary people to successfully crush Prigozhin's rebellion. It's looking like he will, but hopefully (if not successful for Wagner) this becomes just one incident in a series of internal crises that eventually unseats Putin and brings Russia on a path back to relative normalcy.
If the Ukrainians have sleeper cells in Moscow surely this is the time to engage them
They can bomb the crap out of him with air assets, sacrifice Rostov, pin him down there. Also, how is Prigozhin going to pay his men now? They are mercenaries after all. I am sure he has loyalists but beyond that I wonder how many still stick with him through this.
I have the popcorn out of course, but I don't see how he makes it through the weekend. However, if this can somehow last, every day this goes on is gold, Rostov is a key military hub.
How far away from Moscow are they?
Seems like the best thing Ukraine can do is to apply pressure to the Russian forces in Ukraine:
One group will fight,
While the other makes TikTok videos of them shooting at nothing.
Like that's going to end well
The regime blocking roads to Moscow, not confident of defeating wagner before that point.
Is there a chance that this is one huge smokescreen and a way out of Ukraine for Putin whilst at the same time saving face?
What I mean is Putin now has to pull out of Ukraine in order to deal with internal problems which could turn the country into a civil war.
He deals with it and remains a “strong” leader.
Prigozhin gets well looked after for his part in the show
Would this be a better outcome for Putin than been driven out or been embarrassed by Ukraine on the battlefield?
They are coming for your ass vlad. His nightmare is coming true.
You absolutely love to see it. Another plane that won't be able to kill Ukrainians
As I said
Putin loyalists (those who rely on him to prop them up) will fight.
Many battalions of russian regulars likely wont though, seen plenty surrender to wagner already.
OMON (Chechens) will fight though, no love lost between them and wagner
Ukraine won't these boys might have go though
Private jets leaving Moscow for turkey this morning......
Rats are fleeing
Putin has concocted a cock-and-bull story of how, while he was a KGB-Stasi bozo in provincial Dresden during the height of the events of Fall of the Wall, that he talked down a large group of angry East Germans from marauding and overrunning the local KGB residence. He used "all of his powers of persuasion" to convince them to leave peacefully according to the subsequent propaganda accounts of that night.
Pure fiction, of course. All of his strength comes from having the shower of murdering blackguards that is the KGB, or whatever they call themselves theses days, behind him. He has absolutely zero presence or charisma.
Putin will be hiding somewhere in a bunker.
How do they get to Turkey. Can't fly over Ukraine. Can't really chance flying over southern Russia with an air battle going on. Its a long haul out through the stans.
Looks like Wagner are prepared for air attacks
I don't think he has a choice now after what putin said in his video, this ends one way prigozhin dead or putin dead
Have to admit(if true) I'm enjoying the goat fukkers fukking each other.
I expect this to be crushed by end of weekend, but if it can last longer than that, could have a drastic impact on the war.
I think the latter makes more sense. Seems crazy to let the Russians regroup.
Yeah but it appears he doesn't want rid of Putin, his beef is with the military command.
Hard to know if this is good or bad news only time will tell. I've probably watched too many movies but a coup in a nuclear armed nation seems dodgy in the extreme.
Wagner claims to have shot down the attacking helicopter on the M4.
Of course they are ,if this keeps none of them will be still be employed by the Kremlin for much longer
I wonder... UAF gives safe passage to Russia for their combatants engaged in Ukraine, so they can return home to defend the motherland. Might bring about serious de-escalation.
Or, UAF greatly increases their counteroffensive and really puts the squeeze on the orc Army, which given the virtually non-existant logistics is going to really be stretched as resources will be diverted to fight Wagner... I'm leaning towards this being the start of a full-fledged counteroffensive.
