I went to bed when the first grainy footage of supposed Wagner movement into Rostov was coming out (nobody was even sure). Now I wake up to them having taken the Russian Army Southern Command. Amazing....

According to a Russian Telegram channel closely affiliated with the Russian airfroce they can confirm that Wagner did indeed shootdown 2 Electronic warfare MI-8's and a MI-35
All in all. The Lesson we can take away from this is that you need to keep PMC's on a tight leash.

Could be….assuming those RosGuard troops on the way south from Moscow don’t get their arses handed to them by the Wagners. Remember, a lot of the decent troops in the Russian army are either dead, defected, or in Wagner itself. If this goes very badly for Putin you’ll have Wagner in control of that chunk of Russia south of Rostov and possibly in a position to wage war on Moscow.
That’s all assuming they fail to talk Wagner into standing down.
He has more to worry about than exiting Ukraine. There is probably a sledgehammer with his name on it.

Also reports that the MODs own prison brigades 'Storm-Z' have released a video claiming their backing Prigozhin. Also reports of various Russian armed units just letting Wagner forces pass through and refusing the engage them.

Head administrative head of North Ossetia, Mayor of Sevastopol, head of the DPR, etc. All the military bloggers making the same statements.
It's hard to see where Prigozhin goes from here.

The top military brass, secret service, oligarchs & other power brokers will be looking for a way out of this whole conflict, taking out both Putin, Prizoghin & the other madmen would be at least be a start towards an eventual peace.
In fairness the Russian public are irrelevant and will just get behind whoever comes out on top in all of this.

To say that I am shocked by the events is an understatement of emotions. But to say that they are very unexpected would be a big exaggeration. Because I warned (https://t.me/Hard_Blog_Line/8939). But, objectively, did Prigozhin's personal ambitions lead to this? Of course no. Is he alone responsible for what is happening? Also no.
It was your "skillful" leadership that led to the rebellion. Your arrogance, self-confidence and inability to compromise. First, you drive people to despair, and then you say that it was personal ambitions that pushed people to treason. Oh is it? Didn't you do it yourself, treating the heroes and your defenders like dumb cattle? Haven't you swept problems under the rug? Haven't you ignored people's feelings and emotions? Who brought the situation to the point that now military personnel have to choose between loyalty to the oath and justice?
It can be said that Prigozhin misunderstands the interests of the country and the people. Can't the same be said about you? It's not too late to make things right. But you and Prigogine are jointly leading the country to an internal conflict. It was possible to solve the problem by simple conversation and solving acute problems. But you didn't want to talk. I do not justify Prigogine. But do not hesitate - I will never justify you either.
And when everyone turns to the Wagnerites with calls and requests to stop, I turn to you. Stop and you. Learn to hear and listen to your people. Otherwise, he will simply stop hearing and listening to you. Fear the wrath of a patient man. But more than that, fear the wrath of a patient people.

Ha, there was me thinking they’d just take Rostov and make a stand. But no, it’s a proper stab at a Civil War with the whole area being taken by Wagner. I very much doubted Ukraine’s war ending this year without a spectacular collapse of the Russian Army…but it looks like this might be happening.
We might actually see the end of the war in Ukraine this year, but the War in Russia is something we’ll need to keep a sharp eye on. There’s no guarantee that a defeat of Putin will result in a friend to the West.
The fact that they are cutting through Russia so quick is looking ominous for Putin. There seems to be a lot of defections, will Putin's loyal units stay loyal or will they stand down.
