Now this Prigozhin scuttlebutt could well be an omen of internal strife, but like I said confusion is the stock in trade for Russia going back the rise of the Soviet Union. Previously the isolation and the triple powers of the Czar and his boyars, the army and God kept the masses controlled. Communism buried two of those so Stalin looked to different methods and practiced this confusion, but putin's regime perfected it. If you can't trust any truth but Russia and putin, then the only truth is Russia and putin.
So how would this play to putin? His "SMO" is bogged down after suffering embarrassing failures from the start of his Three Day War. He may be looking for a different out. He could blame rogue agents internally and externally for hurting Mother Russia (playing to a loooong meme in Russian society) and Prigozhin(a very close guy to the throne)has named them; the military command structure and some among the oligarch cadre. If Prigozhin is still his mate, the army are his biggest threat. They always are to autocrats. This could be a way of getting out of his SMO/calling a magnanimous ceasefire, while clearing the decks of internal threats and keeping his and his 30 year extant junta in power.

Wagner has always been a Russian puppet PMC. There has to be more than just Prigorzhin finally losing it. He's possibly been chosen already as Putin's replacement. Really no clue what's going on though. I only see it going two ways though.
He's already locked up/dead, or is going to be greatly helped in a coup. Don't see mad bloodshed in the streets of Russia. Can't put the phone down now.
This seems to be a ruse to get the Ukrainians to go balls deep in their offensive and they could possibly do something nuclear. I know the Russians have been generally shambolic but surely this is orchestrated to make them look weak and give a perfect opportunity to lure the Ukrainians out

Kind of reminds me that night early in the war when Russian forces attacked the Chernobyl plant and we were all watching the security cameras live at the time, was absolutely surreal.
I dunno. What's in it for Prigozhyn? Hard to see any outcome here where both he and Putin survive.
Don't get me wrong Putin loves playing people off against each other. Actually wiping each other out in the middle of a war though? Nah that's just reckless and stupid.
I think the simpler explanation is that he's simply lost control of the situation.
I notice that Surovikin is holding a gun while making his appeal for everyone to lay down their arms.

Audio only would be a much smaller payload to deliver than the video, depending on the method the hackers are using but either way it's preferable to require as little resource as possible.
If there's a Wagner column that's miles long, it shouldn't be long until there is pictures/video.
Wagner can't conquer Russia in a land war, it just sounds silly.
It certainly could be that, and it's just a fact of war that more of this psy-op stuff goes on than real information. Well, we can only presume, because there hasn't really been a war of this scale, that's been this evenly poised and fought between two modern countries, but this is what we seem to be seeing.
Are ruses like this expected to work? (if it is a ruse) I doubt Ukraine would do anything differently until things are 100% confirmed.
It doesn't need to conquer Russia they just need to kill a handful of individuals and take power.
