Not a good look. I wonder did he go because this was going to come to light?

Will this change anything at RTE? not a jot, new faces will come in and do the exact same, they'll be back to whinging about not getting enough largesse from the TV license in a year, the only way is for organised protest against the license to force change, there was such a move against the water charges yet these jokers can stick everyone for 160 a year.
I am making factual statements that have been repeated ad nausium so stop talking nonsense.
The statement is here. https://www.breakingnews.ie/ireland/tubridy-apologises-for-not-asking-questions-about-reporting-of-his-earnings-1493292.html
He apologises for an error in judgement and a failure on his part. Ie mistakes.
Your efforts at deflection make me wonder if you have a certain bias or interest in this?
Front runner for the annual Golden Shoehorn award.😁
I am in agreement with having a licence fee funded broadcaster and I was always broadly in support of the value gotten from paying for the TV licence.
There is a lot of RTE output that I have zero interest in - some of the sports they show, drama series, 2fm, a lot of their lifestyle shows etc... But their remit is for everyone so I was happy enough to be content with their news/current affairs, documentaries, orchestra, Lyric FM etc..
One thing that always bothered me was the fees paid to "talent". But I was willing to bite my tongue.
Not anymore. I cancelled my licence DD today. I hope many more do similar. I don't want wholesale job losses but I want wholesale changes. These ridiculous salaries need to end.
Ryan has his own company and accountants, he mentioned that in his statement. Is that where people are getting the 2 sets of accounts from?
In his statement, Mr Tubridy said that all his earnings at the broadcaster "have at all times been included in my company's accounts that were prepared by my accountant and filed with the Companies Registration Office and all my taxes are up to date.
I'd say it's more the new Sinn Fein in him
I think you’ve mixed up where you are pal. This is a **** internet forum. Not what you think it is.
I thought the 2 Sharon's were going to explode. Then I thought wonder how much they are getting ??
I’ve read all the statements.
Where’s your evidence that there were two sets of accounts, and can you clarify if it’s RTE or Tubridy that you are accusing of having two sets of accounts?
Alan Kelly , is calling them all in to Public Accounts next week according to himself ..
With changes coming maybe even Fair City will improve 🤭
RTE had two sets of accounts, one for the public, board and possibly auditors. The barter account was separate to this.
This is not my opinion, its been repeatedly covered over the last few days.
I have clarified numerous times its rte. Its been covered numerous times in the media. Only someone living in a cave could have missed it, or someone trying desperately to deflect.
Some of us have been posting about on this site this for YEARS.
Despite all of the evidence that’s in the public domain and more to come, despite his own admission of wrong doing via his car crash statement, here you are still defending him. I hope you’re getting paid to do this.
Really Terrible Entertainment
Ryan Tubridy's Extras
So basically was he charging RTE twice? once for being Ryan Turbridy and secondly for doing some work for the Late late or doing something for the Turbridy show and splinting the payment that way?
Last sentence is key:
In its statement, the RTÉ board said it has taken steps to ensure there is "no recurrence of these matters," including "bringing the Barter Account within the control of the Finance function."
Well, it certainly can't get any worse!
Reading up a little bit on this "barter" system, no where can I find an example of a company stumping up money to supplement a contractors wages in lieu of free goods from the contracting company
Seems RTE are being very liberal with their usage of the word
Barter system = Company A and Company B agree an exchange of goods/service that benefit both companies with no cash outlay
Ryan Tubridys Emoluments
* sounds like something for haemorrhoids
So yesterday Tubridy attempted to throw RTE under the bus with a pathetic "It wasnt me, it was them" statement.....today he is apologising to appease the great unwashed......whats the next manufactured statement by NKM going to be??
Tubridy is just Noel Kellys puppet and cash cow......
Stick your apology Tubridy......you are only sorry you got caught with your hand in the cookie jar.....
Tubridy was more than happy to sit back and bask in the RTE deception over his salary.....
He is deluded if he thinks anyone wants him back........
Why should RTE continuously get the licence fee or the lions share of it? There needs to be reform of public service broadcasting in Ireland. I'd fully support a €150 annual fee for RTE1 TG4, RnaG and RTE Radio 1 - with all available online too. The rest can sink or swim after that. There is too much baggage with RTE and multiple TV stations, multiple radio stations etc... Time is long gone that commercial outfits can't fill the void of what would be left if RTE 2 and 2FM in particular were culled.
Every 10 years the licence fee award should be up for review. If Virgin Media could pitch for that money they should be able - perhaps allow the public to vote on it?
Should have been there to start with - this was an underhanded attempt to hide financial transactions to the detriment of licence payers
RTE have costs of about 330 million annually give or take, I'm willing to bet that there are lots of payments the board know nothing about, not would I expect them to, again there has been no suggestion of fraudulent activities anywhere except this thread.
You trying condescension is very funny, sorry you haven't a clue, but feel free to let me know when you are proven correct on this poimt, spoiler alert it won't happen.
What evidence of there being two sets of accounts is there?
That’s my specific question to the poster I was addressing.
The misinformation in this thread is frightening to be honest
If the costs are documented by the finance department, there's nothing too wrong there, at least they are documented and in the accounts. Big difference to off the books transactions that no-one in the finance department or most people on the Board knew nothing about. The latter are hidden transactions.
