without knowing how RTE represented this in their accounts you cant really make that assertion,
if they have correctly recorded it as a cost and just not disclosed in the voluntary disclosure of presenter salaries then its not a matter for them at all.

The best thing RTE could do now is embrace AI technology. Getting a few AI robots presenting with AltGPT scripts and responses would be an improvement on the current output from humans. Minimal costs, and could be very entertaining indeed!
Presumably, if no audit took place, the payments would have continued with Tubs still hosting. Once the audit was happening the writing was on the wall and he decided to step down because he was going to get shoved once this came to light.

Tubridy earlier this year said he would love to go into podcasting. As a podcaster I can safely say, who is going to sponsor the podcast as getting sponsorship is not easy and also who is going to listen to his podcast? There are new podcasts being launched every week and there is no way in hell that I would launch one now. Thankfully I launched my podcast 7 years ago before podcasts had a renaissance.

RTE would be better to get rid of the dead wood like 2FM, concentrate on what they should provide....invest more into sports like GAA and rugby. No idea why we cant see more GAA games on RTE and I know GAA Go out now but why did we need that?
Also they should have AIL/Schools cup in rugby terms available to the nation. Enough of buying shite shows from across the World everyone has watched on Sky/Netflix 2 years beforehand
We have to remember that people like my parents watch a hell of a lot of RTE, they dont watch the imported TV shows but the home content. More of that.

As the director of his own company (A micro company), which looks like it is Himself and the missus as employees, he would have had to sign off on the books every year. It wouldn't have been a massively complex company and every year for their tax return they would have had to sign off on it . There is absolutely no way that him or the missus didn't know. Almost zero percent. Unless they were reckless as f**k and just signed stuff without looking.
He did not find out yesterday. He did not find out in March. He was caught in March. He was saying he was staying on at the Late Late for a long time, then suddenly changed his mind a few weeks later.
He knew about this 5 years ago. He went out and told everyone he was taking a paycut and he didn't. That's a measure of him a person.
