Seeing as Elton has now rescheduled his Dublin gigs, might be useful to start a 2023 thread as others might start popping up.
The Commitments - 7th - 19th February (Olympia Theatre)
Elton John - 28th/29th March (3Arena)
in fairness, if his voice is struggling and he's only able to do one gig, it was always going to be Glasto. I doubt they've cancelled Marley Park (which has no doubt cost them a lot of money) on a whim.
Yeah and he can only do glasto cause he was on vocal rest since Monday without a Tuesday evening gig where he needed to sing for hours.
you can be guaranteed that no one involved wanted to refund €2m in concert tickets.
artics get more for doing marlay than for glasto
They were setting up the stage for AM last night looking at some pics floating around. It's was an unfortunate but understandable decision.
Sure same thing last year with chemical brothers and cork. Announced themselves as surprise for glasto, next day postponed cork show cause of covid and tried to wait and see if okay for Glastonbury but ultimately cancelled
Muse at end September/early October it appears, 3arena
No info on prices, doubt it will be cheap
Indoor is very tempting. Nova Twins are excellent too. Hopefully it's not crazy money
What type of prices should we expect for Muse?
Edit: £102 for standing in Manchester and £107 in London, about £95 face value for each
€120 including ticketmaster fees for standing I would take it
Yeah, that would be quite steep, when I saw them at the Drones tour back in 2016 standing was 65 + fees.
Mind you their shows are quite impressive and I liked the last album, so I will consider it.
For someone who’s never seen them are they worth that?
Prices from €62.45
That's ridiculous
I mean, I know it's kind of in line with some other artists, but no way I can justify paying that
A handful of restricted views at that price. Judging by uk prices would be surprised if any “normal” ticket comes out less than €100 with ticketmaster fees etc
I always consider how big a fan of the band you are Jaffa, to justify any ticket price over 100 euro.
I was never a big fan of their first 2-3 albums, but started liking them from Black Holes and Revelations. When I saw them in 2016 it was more to tick it off the list. But that show was quite impressive - if I recall correctly part of the stage was rotating and the visuals were very good. It was one of those gigs that made me a bigger fan.
Another thing to consider is where to sit. Fanirish mentioned that there are restricted view tickets, which could mean screens in the middle of the stage (catwalk style) that might not be visible from everywhere at The Point. Would definitely avoid those tickets.
If you go expecting all the classic songs from the first 3-4 albums you'll be a bit disappointed. You might get a few older ones but they tend to fill over half their sets with newer and weaker material. They are still a good band, they just fall down in the songwriting department these days.
That would be shocking for Muse. A band very much on the down slope. And I am a huge huge fan but the last two albums and anything matt has done on his own..... lawd
If anyone is asking if its worth seeing them - yes! They are very good live
Can't say I'm an expert on them but I enjoyed Will of the People and also never really been to a visual show show like Muse do. Probably end up picking one up so long as Foos isn't announced by then
Just look at the recent setlists, it's been pretty static the whole tour.
I seen them in Holland and while it was good the setlist wasn't a personal fav.

Ticket prices from €69.70 according to Nialler9
It's just to let her finish her Glastonbury set. 😉
Awaiting the incoming coiffure comments.

What time do the fairview gigs end at
22:30 curfew
Thank you, have a baby whose decided he's not sleeping anymore, so need to see how many songs I miss for the train
Anyone know what the stage times are in fairview tonight?
hoping to catch the Lathums so tryin to figure out what time to finish work
If doors open at 7 as advertised wouldn’t be surprised if they’re on within half an hour as they have to get through Blossoms as well. No one posted anything yet though
