Earlier this year I got the impression he had no intention of leaving The Late Late Show and all.pf a sudden it changed in March.
There was a speculation that he was going to run for President.
Then the news broke Yesterday about this.
I wonder is he still going?
It didn't come from a private source though did it? Not after the first year and even in the first year it was part of his RTE package.
It wasn't a private arrangement between him and the sponsor.

I wouldn’t be a fan of his ‘Callan’s Kicks’ on the radio but have found his new year shows on tv pretty funny.
Do people not realise that Pat Kenny, off today, is on at the same time on Newstalk? How on earth could anyone listen to Tubridy, or Callan, when Pat is an option?

Dee Forbes suspended days before finishing, a joke
As a journalist, I can't just rely on Twitter and I have spoken to people in the radio industry. There is no smoke without fire and by saying he is not the type is the excuse some people used when defending Schofield.
The plot thickens.. reported that Dee Forbes was fired/ suspended a couple of days ago.

Should be no surprise RTE is rotten, I think the top people at many state / semi-state organizations get back-handers / "favours" along the way never recorded in the books.
I am surprised the audit consultants made this a big deal. Which company was it? They'd usually find a way to square these things off and ensure its not 'reported' so that they keep the account.
Some seriously poor PR decision by RTE to go public with this yesterday. They thought with the Submarine story that it wouldn't create as much noise or anger. Well they were wrong. It has overtaken that story as the main headline. People are rightly angered by all of this.
We pay the license so directly pay Tubridy. He has always been a polarising presenter but mostly from the people I have spoken too he has been disliked and not really rated that highly.
It seems to be in the upper echelons of media, celebs and by the RTE staff where he has been so highly rated and they have never been afraid to push the narrative on us that he was irreplaceable and one of the best presenters in the UK and Ireland. Well that was and is bollix.
I actually think that now is the time to wind up the LLS. By extension it's reputation is shot. It has been a dying animal since he took over anyway but now it's goosed. RTE's approach to it seems to have morphed into pontificating on a Friday and filling the country with misery. Well they can't do that anymore with a straight face.
As members of the public I'd urge as many people to email their local representatives and telling them in no uncertain terms that they won't be paying the license fee until actions have been taken against RTE. The one thing about the BBC is heads would be taken.
No way Tubridy ever works in RTE again. If the guy was as talented as some say he wouldn't have come out with a disgraceful self preserving statement like that last night. He would have read the room which he doesn't seem to be able to do. I'm sick of the old boys club in RTE.

Yea, its disgusting behaviour by RTE, lying publicly about what he was paid. He hasn't helped himself either. His salary was published, the incorrect one, and he never said anything to RTE that they published it wrong ?? Think we now know why he left.
Needs a complete review of all salaries paid, and who else has payments not disclosed.

Eh.. most folk know where their sources of income are and what they are, particularly additional income streams of €75K a year.
