It could come out at some stage that Tubs held RTE over a barrel and forced them to agree to this deal, RTE couldn't risk loosing their biggest asset.

You're wrong there. RTE apparently knowingly misled the public, but Tubs has questions to answer.
Over the last ten years he has become the voice of the Establishment. The little lecture at the start of his radio show has stretched out from a quick peruse of the papers to a firm lecture for the Little People, telling them the Correct Views to have on various subjects from American politics to Covid to the immigration crisis
Some years ago, people felt it was Ray Darcy who was the standard bearer for this righteous way of living. But now we know, he was only a diversion, the real threat was coming from Tubridy
This exposure is a great thing for ordinary people, as hopefully it will lead to the breakup of the PRAVDA style Propaganda machine that is RTE

RTE’s biggest asset is the land they own in Donnybrook.
All the high earners attract negative comments regardless if they are good at their job or not .Personally he is not my cup of tea so I rarely listen or watch him and I do believe him and the others are over paid .
We need to get rid of Operation Transformation. There is something very warped and judgemental about that weird show and K Thomas is a shocker.

Losing him to where, though? Genuine question. Didn't he attempt a bit of work with the BBC at one point? I don't think he was much of a success there either.
Likewise with Duffy, Darcy and the rest with their vastly overpaid salaries. They have been on the pig's back for far too long, with little or no talent between the lot of them, imo.
What's the likelihood of other top rte presenters involved in this giving they use the same agent?
Along with reffering to anyone who works for RTE as “Stars” which would also lead to them not being guests on each others shows and especially not on programs like dancing with the stars.
Why should we pay so 'high earners' can get payments amounting to over 50k a year that they don't even notice?
Tax the rich to pay for public services and stop these parasites from hoarding more and more of the wealth and assets, forcing the next generation into a lifetime of unaffordable renting of substandard accommodation
They won't even notice the taxes being taken from them.
Personally I think it's a near certainty and I think this practice goes back a long time - possibly to the start of the RTE cuts, if not earlier.

This is a snippet of RTE’s statement but it doesn’t state whether the audit of the others in the top ten will be for the current batch or if they will go back over previous years -
“At the request of the Board, RTÉ has this week conducted an internal review of the reporting of the remuneration of its top ten most highly paid, on air presenters. This review has found that the full cost to RTÉ of its contracts with the other such on-air presenters, has been correctly reported.
The Board has now requested that Grant Thornton review the contracts of RTÉ’s top ten most highly paid on air presenters to independently validate that all remuneration figures have been correctly stated and accounted for by RTÉ. Grant Thornton will also review the understatement by RTÉ of Mr Tubridy’s published remuneration by €120,000 in the period 2017-2019.”
When are the contracts renewed? If it’s around March then RTÉ knew there were issues with Tubs payments and did the current contracts for the other change?
Folks hardly expect Tubs to have a clue here on the payments. Chap far too busy in and ouha book shops and eating scones in fancy salubrious coffee shops
Grant Thornton who probably do loads of work for RTE and will just give a fluff report so they don't upset anyone.

Google Grant Thorton and RTE.....long long long long history of both companies working together. Even sponsoring together. Grant Thornton also gave them advice on redundancies previous
So as I expected the report from Grant Thornton will be a pile of rubbish and a cover up. Similar to the report HSE got done after the Ransomware.
