Reiwa bento box this eve - in house - v v good.. better quality than Akira but setting not as nice..
Exactly there on the corner of Cook St.
Oh, happy to see you reviewed it Sporina, even if Japanese isn't your thing, thank you.
The menu for Reiwa isn't appearing on Maps, but I must try it soon, solo if needed!
Would love to call back to Wabisabi too. I did like eating there. I would like to try the eel.
Enjoyed the Sea Salt ice cream at Murpy’s Cork, good addition but offcourse a little expensive at €6.00 min per serving
Has that Indonesian place on popes quay shut down? Nalas cafe or something. Google maps says temporarily closed. Was looking for something spicy.
Are there ANY curry merchants in Cork that include rice with the meal? It's so fecking annoying having to pay for it separately.
Nala's... Oh I hope not; I didn't even get a chance to try them. Hopefully it's just for summer holiday.
6 quid for an ice cream cone??! Fck that..
Finally got to Paladar last night, quinoa croquettes were lovely and the bean stew fish dish was tasty.
Overall found it lovely just Don't get the chicken skewers, the dish is very dry.
Does thali not serve rice with their dishes? Thought they did
Probably a bit pricy for what they're looking for.
As far as I remember Rice included in dishes in thali ... mains though between 18 - 20 quid from what I remember but decent portion sizes
I hope Nala's find a new place soon!
Maybe I got them on a bad day but the one time we tried food from there , it was really awful. Like Uncle Ben's jar of sauce awful. I still wonder was the chef off, or something, that day. It was so bad that you wouldn't even know where to start if complaining.
Their coffee and cake was lovely, though and very nice people.
Passed murphys yesterday looked quiet couple of staff outside i assume handing out samples.
It's like 9 quid for 2 scoops I heard, good luck with that!
Cork city isn't Killarney and dingle full of American tourists.
The queues for Crispy Creme have really died away, too. I often pass and see no one in the shop at all.
Passed there today. It says Khyber Grill and Cafe opening soon.
That sounds interesting!
I was at the Black Market for lunch today, seems a little bit busier than last time I was there when it was almost totally empty. Still very quiet compared to the Marina Market though. We went to the Pie Guys stall, very tasty have to say.
Has anyone tried the new Perry Street in Grange for breakfast/brunch?
Yep, live near there. Same as their other offerings. Pricey but decent.
It’s grand…but it’s incredibly noisy in there….they are waiting for insulation apparently,
Is it where the Pinecroft bar was? Saw something in there passing the other week but wasn't sure.
Have been to Perry st in Ringaskiddy a few times for coffee but got a mini breakfast recently and thought it was very poor value.
Yeah it’s just past the Aldi next to Camille on the right
went to Izz cafe , hadn’t been in so long. Incredibly tasty
Tried the new Japanese restaurant on Paul Street (former Uncle Pete's).
I much preferred it to the one on French Church Street. Sashimi bento box was good - very generous with the fish.
Sabor Nordestino, Washington Street, Brazilian restaurant.
The food was very simple and homecooked, but of good quality and tasty. It's a protein and carb fest! Recommended, and good value. Very friendly staff too.
I'm going to bring my own hot sauce in the future, as I felt that the food, although great, needed a lift.
I ordered the beef stew for main, and the mixed salgadinhos for starter.
Has tung sing closed in ballincollig, no activity for a few weeks
Hopefully 😅
Tung Sing have a takeaway food trailer in the car park of Hanley's garden centre at Kinsale road.
Nice place, I like the simple homecooked food. Great value too. Must be the cheapest restaurant steak in town?
You should try their weekend special the "feijoada". I think they do it every weekend. Black bean stew with bits of pork. Very edlicious popular with the Brazilians so you probably won't get a seat.
