Can genetically modified mosquitoes eat a hole in a dam? (Asking for a friend)
From commentary it appears the Ukrainian offence is slower than expected but there are still gains and the Ukrainians are evolving their tactics.
They are also getting better at shooting down helicopters.
Getting boring? Really? A bit like yourself then? If you found Russia's destruction of the dam "Boring", I guarantee you that you will not find a blown up reactor boring....on the contrary, it will energize you beyond your wildest expectations.
Making gains and working there way through Russian ww2 style trench defensive system, which to be fair appear to be actually working well. Maybe their best tactic this whole war.
UAF will keep probing weak spots and eventually find a crack to take advantage of.
I suspect they may have already found this weak spot and that's why were seeing a dramatic increase in strikes against rail networks, bridges and resupply logistics
What? Counselling? Support? In Russia??? 😂 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 No, I doubt it very much. But back in the front lines in Ukraine again??// Definitely a very good possibility.
Point out exactly where i said the blowing up of the dam was boring.
The subject matter of the discussion was Zelensky, after warning the world about Putins plan to blow up the dam, ( which happened) then recently again warning about Putins plan for the Reactor plant, was according to you " Boring". If it was not either of these two items, what exactly were you commenting on being boring??? Maybe its the man himself you find boring?
Stop you are 'boring' us with your (very valid) logical questions.
they have no answers to this in their script, you well know that. And if they will try to improvise with the answers, it would be Americas fault anyway.
What is the fallout from the plant water cooling being blown.
Would it eventually lead to a Chernobyl.
How far would it spread.
The Kremlin should be told that it would be viewed as a nuclear attack and the same response enacted.
Fixed my post for you.
What are you going to spend it on?
That would buy a lot of hookers, Vodka and borscht for one man.
Two completely different kettles of uranium.
Chernobyl was in active use and had previously been destabilized as a consequence of a number of poor decisions related to a test that they were running on reactor #4 at the plant. Zaporizhya (apologies for the spelling) has been in a state of "cold shutdown" pretty much since the war started. it requires significantly less cooling than it would if it were in active use. in addition, to my knowledge at least, the reactor design at Zaporizhya is far more conventional than the RBMK-1200 that was used at Chernobyl.
I'm not an expert, but as far as I know, the reactors at Zaporizhya all have a dedicated containment vessel for the reactor core, rather than just relying on the radiation shielding on top of the reactor to keep everything in check. Barring any breach of the containment vessels, and given the low power state of the reactors, any meltdown should be gradual and remain within the containment vessels. It'll be an absolute b*tch to clean up, but I doubt we'll see the same widespread contamination that Chernobyl caused.
Now, all of this is under the precondition that Russia doesn't blow up the containment vessels themselves, which, whilst doable, would require some serious explosive power. If that happens, all bets are off.
Edit. Misread post
If anything catastrophic were to happen at the ZNPP then I have heard that the path of the fallout would depend entirely on the weather system that is over the area at the time. Right at this moment it looks like it would blow North and then east right into the Moscow region of Russia
I think the biggest issue is there is no real data as what will or would happen to a nuclear power plant when high explosives are brought into the mix ,we know certain safety mechanisms are in place for if one part fails and a then a redundancy takes over then another system kicks in , but if the whole place has been rigged with mines and other explosives we could see something catastrophic happen if they really do go full retard.
That's awful! Such a shame.
Anyway.
Ah you know the Russian MO, bring the plant back online to full power and then blow it.
Like the dam, let the water level rise to the highest level, before they blow it.
Seeing as how there wasn't really a western response to the damn destruction, it may embolden then to **** around with the nuclear plant.
i remember when chernobyl blew,we had radiation from it found in sheep in Donegal so yeah it spread a bit of a distance
I have sheep.
It would take a sheep to be the radioactive thing.
If you dropped your flock in to the Sahara desert, you'd find one of them had drowned by that evening.
Smashing post, thank you.
Hopefully not an atom smashing post.
yeah that is true...have to be one of the least smart animals...but jeez lamb is so tasty (off topic i know!)
So you can't point it out and are making stuff up. Thanks
I have no idea what other meaning could be taken from your post either. I promise I'm not making anything up. Please enlighten me.
There's a surprising level of ignorance in Russia about Chernobyl considering Russian troops dug fox holes around the site when they occupied it. You'd imagine anyone with basic knowledge of happened there would refuse the order and take the punishment rather than suffer the consequences of radiation poisoning.
(Just for fun check out the story of a John Wayne movie called "The Conqueror")
What might come.
You don't have to understand Russian to get this
On that note, I'd generally recommend checking out a Youtuber named Kyle Hill. He's a science youtuber, whose videos generally contain quite a bit of humor. However, he also has two playlists on his channel that deal with nuclear issues, Half-Life Histories and Inside Chernobyl. Those videos cover a lot of issues like nuclear accidents, etc., and are much more factual and somber. He has a video on The Conqueror, and I'd recommend that anyone who's interested in nuclear matters should check out those two playlists.
Anyway, enough dragging this thread off-topic, and apologies for doing so.
