President Biden closes gun control speech in USA with 'God save the Queen'

At the weekend Joe Biden seemed to get a bit confused when he came off the teleprompter and finished his speech. He closed his speech with the phrase "God Save the Queen", before looking around to figure out where to walk offstage. Look at all the video and controversy circulating online. He definitely was not speaking to someone in the audience.

Even if he now thinks he is British, is he not aware that the Queen is dead? What next, will he say God save the Black 'n Tans, oh he meant the all blacks, and the two islands the All Blacks are from should be reunited back together same as all groups of islands are united everywhere? He is liable to say anything. Many Americans are calling for their 25th amendment to be invoked.

Barring a mod getting involved, you don't decide the subject of the thread, if people want to make comparisons to other politicians and likely opponents of Biden they are free to do so, yes, everyone realises that makes your position farcical, but that's not the first time.

And to praise a right wing politician, I think Johnson was better at the pulpit than Biden is, but not as good as Obama.

Most have to agree, he came to Ireland and charmed the pants off us with his wit and oratory. He quoted poets and poetry. He even remembered what one of our own small time politicians told him - Mayo for Sam.

Contrast his speeches without notes and staring the audience in the eye to Leo Varadkar who read every single one of his speeches without barely looking up.

Thats not an actual criticism of Trump or his behaviour though. It can simply mean you think person X is better. Especially if X is another Republican. You dont post unprompted criticisms of Trumps disgraceful behaviour which has lead to multiple court cases against him and dont pretend otherwise as it fools no one. Sure dig us up the post where you said you would vote for Biden before the election. Was that in 2020? It apears tou have made a demonstrably false claim because no such post exists. IDGAF what you think the thread is about. You want to assert a standard, other users want "consistency" so it is being applied.

Users want to whine about removing Biden or getting him to resign, then the alternatives must be discussed and considered. Biden will stay in office until he is voted out, necessitating a competitor.

There was no speech writing to to it, just anecdotes, bit of quoting poetry, few jokes, some personal stuff about his upbringing and late son. The guys a natural.

In summary, one politician wowed us with his great memory, wit and oratory The other read from a script like someone reading out his homework, which in my opinion was a massive faux pas.

You have the most important world leader beside you and you can't be bothered to learn off your speech.

As far as I can see, people are defending Biden because he's better than Trump. I can't argue with that because Biden is better than Trump but it's still not relevant to the discussion.

It's entirely relevant though. Trump is the leading contender for the presidency. On the democratic side, it's a conspiracy theorist who thinks dirty water makes you trans and wifi gives you cancer.

We aren't discussing Biden's health, we are discussing Biden "gaffes" and laypeople are making illogical leaps and bounds to draw medical conclusions about it. Why shouldn't it be addressed that these same standards being applied to skewer Biden, need also be applied to his opponents, who would fail the dementia test purported by users here. And Mike Pence would be medically disqualified for cognitive decline, too. So who gets the Presidency, Kamala? She's not going to invoke the 25th by the way, and she would need to.

Once you reach the age of 40, everyone starts to lose their marbles. I can never remember what I had for dinner yesterday. I'm terrible with names. If you told me your name now, 5 minutes from now I wouldn't remember it. I've plenty more examples. But having talked to others, its actually normal. Maybe we all have dementia? Or maybe we're all prone to gaffes and memory loss.
