Definitely an interesting prospect, but would a mass crossing of Ukrainian forces invite an opportunity for Russia to target the dam with missiles and swamp them in the middle of such an operation?
If they could destroy dams with missiles, they would have already flooded Kyiv and other cities.
Now there saying its an operational pause so it's not a full stop but it's not going 100% to plan.
Not good whichever way you dice it.
Nah , they'll bend over and take it up the ass from the next despot , just like they done under the Tsars , the commies and the obligarchs
I'd be inclined to disagree with you there.
The Russians would thick-headedly throw all of their weight into a single fight and lose stupidly high numbers of troops / gear in the process, just like Bakmut. Russian defenses are probably built with that mentality in mind.
But we as we've seen in this fight for ages now, the AFU fight *smarter" than the Russians. The recent advance is likely designed to get a feel of those Russian defenses and the type of troops they are up against. An intelligent army, would be collecting in loads of reports from these fights and using that data to put together the right combination of troops & armor for the situation at that point on the frontline.
The advance may be halting now to prepare for that, with this first wave having already done its job.
ruSSians are scummy knuts by default. all of them. Edit: just for our dear rogber - Navalniy is not a scummy knut, and maybe 1% of russkies not. To the rest of ruSSkies - poshli vi vse nahui!
Assuming this isn't made up, or disinfo, it's not very surprising.
The ferocity of the fighting in the last two weeks has been intense. The sheer volume of all the FPV suicide drones being used by both sides has been striking. Not a lot of territory is being exchanged, but under the hood both sides are doing serious damage to the other.
Half a week has passed since the Estonians said that but there has been fighting in that time.
Another fire in moscow
Pyatikhatki has been taken.
Note the flag on the ground of south Ossetia, a part of Georgia currently under Russian occupation.
That’s pure xenophobic rubbish. No Blacks, No Irish stuff
It would take hours for the water to reach them in that scenario, theyd easily have time to get back to either bank
What's that quote from the Art of War?
'Appear weak when you are strong, appear strong when you are weak'
If there is a pause and its not dome feint, they are doing it because the UAF value the lives of their soldiers. The Russians use the meat grinder the Ukrainians use their brains
Regroup, rethink, rearm and go again.
Some intense footage of Ukrainians clearing a trench system

You can't get Toffee Crisp in Russia anymore. All they have is a massive surplus of Double Deckers that nobody wants to eat.
Why do YOU keep banging the Nuke Drum??
It really is disgraceful.
I agree. The Russian behaviour in Ukraine, the raping, torture, murder, etc.....really is disgraceful.
I agree, the behaviour of some Russian's is but to label every single Russian as such is incorrect and to be honest blatant xenophobia.
...
There is a possibility that this war will revert to attrition, or 'accelerated attrition' as someone put it.
Watching this on YT on my coffee break this morning. I need to read up on the 2008 Bucharest Summit.
Meanwhile, here's Russia packing a T-54/55 with explosives and driving it (remotely you'd expect/hope) at Ukrainian positions.
Glad for the initial mine holding it up further away, but that was an insane explosion - would fear for those out of the trenches to finish it off.
They'll need to look out for more of these traps - knowing the russians, I doubt they have better technology than a brick on a pedal
Well this sucks:
Amazing the amount of useful professional grade information that is provided by people volunteering crazy amounts of their time.
That’s crazy footage, a lot different from all quiet on the western front…. More like a video game…..
Yeah, it's a camera mounted on the soldier, so the first thing many of us will liken the footage to is an FPS game because that's our only frame of reference.
As intense as participating in combat must be, this kind of trench combat has to be something even a level above that. It's dark, it's claustrophobic, you're a split second away from death at any time. Despite all this, you need to be cool and disciplined and be able to immediately assess if the desperate figures appearing around corners are friend or foe, before pumping them with bullets if they're the latter.
There should be armed drones covering every trench attack. Easily said...
It's a well deserved label to apply to every single Russian at this stage. You'd excuse them for a few months while they figure out what is going down. But at this stage they can be in no doubt that they are complete pariahs and need to implement regime change from within and without.
