Sorry to pop your outrage, there's a marked difference between calling trump Hitler and calling him a nazi
This is a moronic statement, and does a grave disservice to the victims of those 2 dictators
Jebus that might be one of the most uninformed comparisons ive ever seen here and for this thread that says a lot, you quite obviously have no actual understanding of the brutality and inhumane treatment those regimes perpetrated against their populace.
Also highly ironic considering Trump is on record as saying he loves the poorly educated and pol pot had a similar outlook where he specifically targeted educated people for death and re-education and in some cases just people who happened to wear glasses. Im not comparing Trump to pol pot before you try to whine about this, I just find it hilarious your seemingly absolute ignorance of history.
Pol Pot went after intellectuals: having reading glasses was liable to get you eliminated. Trump would have nothing to fear from Pol Pot.
Its no different to what the left have been saying about Trump being a Nazi or the devil for the last few years.
Its called hyperbole, and the left are masters of it.
You and your colleagues are quick to call it out now though, so predictable.
Neither would the majority of his supporters
If the Republicans had employed similar tactics to Hillary Clinton, she would be rotting in a cell now.
Actually plenty of evidence to support that fact
MisterAnarcy, how do you think this is a witch hunt?
Trump agrees that he had top secret information. We have the audio of him acknowledging that although as POTUS he could have declassified it he never did (just another example of the Trumps failure to get things done!)
Trump agrees that he was asked to give the information back but refused.
We know his lawyers lied about the information being returned.
So what we have is a US citizen (for that is what he is now) that knowingly had US government classified information yet lied it when asked, discussed it with people without proper clearance (and possibly showed it to them).
Does none of that worry you? Should all US citizens now be allowed to keep whatever information they see and discuss it openly at their golf or football clubs?
On a serious note though, could you imagine if Trump with his propensity for fawning over tyrants, was US president at the outbreak of WW2?
He’d be best of buddies with Hirohito, Mussolini and the aforementioned Hitler.
'they wrote me a letter, then we fell in love'
Well that was on the Hitler bucket list - an "America First" President that would stay out of the war/expansion, to the benefit of the Reich:
Russia sought, and obtained, the same thing within Trump to a degree, someone who would downplay Russian aggression and legitimize their hold on Crimea.
Okay who had "I CANT BELIEVE YOU'RE ALL CALLING TRUMP A NAZI!!!" in the 'what will be the distraction from discussing Trump's indictment' competition?
It's OK if you didn't understand the reference
I saw a documentary on Henry Ford recently and he was prominent in that movement.
Little differences here and there and things might have turned out very differently.
It shows that a nations direction and ultimately it’s fortune can change very quickly, and it somehow feels that the US is currently accelerating towards major decision points.
Washington Post is sharing this one for free:
Last Fall, Trump's attorneys advise him to take a deal with the govt for their documents back, he instead decided to take the advice of a yes-man without a law license who said he was entitled to keep them.
Trump time and again rejected the advice from lawyers and advisers who urged him to cooperate and instead took the advice of Tom Fitton, the head of the conservative group Judicial Watch, and a range of others who told him he could legally keep the documents and should fight the Justice Department, advisers said. Trump would often cite Fitton to others, and Fitton told some of Trump’s lawyers that Trump could keep the documents, even as they disagreed, the advisers said.
Another parallel with Hitler, only listening to yes-men ;)
Some things never change all right - excuses being rolled out for Trump's legal woes.
What never changes is Trump's contempt for the law and democracy.
That is why he bounces from - found liable for sexual assault, to classified documents, and then it will be onto campaign fundraising violations and election interference and I may have missed some.
When Trump was shouting Lock Her Up was he echoing Stalin or Pol Pot then? You want to dig up your old posts comparing him to a dictator then? Well?
It is amazing that some posters just don't get that practically every other poster is laughing at their posts. How can you be so unaware?
Lincoln Party trolling the former President now with, not the untruth, that he isn't surrounded by a bunch of Roy Cohns that are going to go along with his insane conspiracy
Nor you, posting something demonstrably ill informed, and then feigning surprise that people scoff at the level of discussion on the thread falling about 12 octaves when you do. Noteworthy that you have, as expected, not chosen to defend your own argument that Biden is comparable to Stalin or Pol Pot.
That is the key part that all the Trump apologiests are avoiding.
Trump could have easily avoided all of this, and was given every chance to do so, but chose not to.
He basically gave the state little choice. The only one to blame for Trumps predicament is Trump himself.
He has been afforded every advantage and still managed to mess it up.
In distractions, Republicans upset that a choir they had bussed up from South Carolina was met by Capitol Police because the Speaker and Republicans didn't properly communicate their invitation to be there (convenient)
You'll notice the reasons for the altercation are all missing from the outrage report above,
And now they're introducing a bill to 'protect singing the national anthem' ... which when you get into the meat and potatoes of it is as silly as saving gas stoves from being ~15% more efficient; the bill would 'protect singing the anthem... except when it doesn't' such as in cases when it is untoward, unsanctioned, disruptive etc. - literally a shuffling of deck chairs on the titanic, to try and re-energize their base with nonsense issues that are total nothingburgers to begin with.
So he and his family are nothing like Nazis they're just... very disparaging of Jews (and Mexicans)
...
Discussion on the thread?
Discussion: The action or process of talking about something in order to reach a decision or to exchange ideas.
There isnt any discussion on the thread as no exchange of ideas is allowed.
Maybe they are laughing back. They need some distraction, they sure as heck aren't trying to actually think about the indictment or anything.
What if it were the other way around ?
Nonsense, you yourself floated for exchange the idea that Biden is parallel to Pol Pot and Josef Stalin. You just refuse to defend that, and now are just in this assumed fetal position of 'woe is me, I'm not allowed to talk?' baloney.
You have been allowed to put forward your view. You have not been banned. Your view was not edited or deleted. The idea that what Trump is going through is Stalin like or pol pot like have been ridiculed deservedly.
Have you addressed where the similarities of Trumps court case are with what Stalin and Pol Pot did to their enemies?
Confirmed: he needs the distraction everyone. Not ready to talk about the collapse of the Republican federal establishment.
