ignoring the never ending story of FSD, it’s cheaper to add after collection.

extract from chat to transfer funds from one order to another, can take up to 14 days. Was onto UK Agent said original order will be cancelled when funds transferred. I told the agent not to do this over fiasco last March. No confirmation of this from agent
I am guessing that I will have time to do this as 14 days leaves me at 27th June. They will be motivated to shift the cars by end Quarter.
I didnt bring up 250 deposit, agent said this is non refundable. I will deal with that after.

As an FYI, I was told last time my refund would take ‘up to 14 days’. It took 7 weeks.
I would have 0 confidence this transfer of funds will occur in time for delivery so if you can afford it, I’d just pay for the second car and cancel the first later in June.

I have two cars due for delivery 30th June. One discounted. One not, but paid for almost in full.
I’ll talk to Ireland delivery team around 25th June (no point talking to chat, they don’t have a clue and will actively mislead you) to confirm the discounted car is legitimate. At that point I’ll cancel the original order and pay for the second car. Expect refund for original some time in August or September.
Probably be a bad news, the Discounted MY are actually ex-displays not sure how Tesla would be able to get SEAI grants on them. I have been informed by a friend who was in Sandyford today. If you see inventory the standard MY RWD which has been added back post cancellation is not getting any discounts or showroom adjustment.

Same excuse for cancelling previous fire sale. Hope not too many cancelled existing orders/initiated fund transfer!
What does ex-displays mean? They have been previously registered?
Thats probably not the issue. The cars have been advertised with a ‘showroom’ discount. Problem is the only ones actually in Dublin are above grant, so discount won’t be honoured.
For the grant eligible orders, they’re currently on boats, not the showroom. So Tesla will say the showroom discount is an error.
After losing out on my car last quarter due to firesale stuff we’ve decided to take this one on the chin and not order a second. I learned my lesson the hard way and I just have lost faith in them to take the chance!

The vehicles in inventory are described as "new vehicles". I picked one up last night, decoded the VIN, states production date of 06-Feb-2023. The car referenced above is a standard RWD with nothing added.
I dont think this make sense to be honest, why Tesla will use cars for example with tow hitch for display :D
Those discounted cars were mostly in the inventory since early April
Surely we cant have a repeat of the FireSale Fiasco from Q3 ? I would have thought Kelly had been sacked by now.
Any car in range of 40k to 60k (total price) that is not registered, is eligible for 5k SEAI grant up until 30-06-2023. After this date SEAI grant in this bracket is reduced to 3.5K
There are 20 cars on the site grant eligible (of which 18 are RWD and 2 are Long Range)
There are 14 cars on the site that are NOT grant eligible, all Long Range
I can understand we want to buy cars with best possible price. I have only shared the info which was given by the rep at Tesla Sandyford. Also, the ex-display meant that it has never been registered to anyone as of today but was utilised to showcase Model Y at a showroom. I'm not certain how they can get around to claim SEAI grant on it.
Also, if they can give showroom discount on MY RWD with white and black interiors why has that not passed on too below mentioned car.

I'm sure they learn on past mistakes and strive to always improve service.
Tesla have cancelled cars for two reasons in the past. I had actually forgotten this. They didn’t even know about the SEAI issue back in March - they cancelled because
‘cars which are in transit cannot receive a showroom discount’
I thought this was simple because they couldn’t deliver before quarter end. But their reason had nothing to do with the grant.
The exact same will apply to all grant eligible cars this time around. The question is, did they really mean ‘showroom discounts won’t apply to cars in transit…and not delivered before quarter end’. Time will tell but last time the fire sale first unwound based on an almost identical post from a visit to Sandyford. Nobody wanted to believe the poster but he was right.
Sandyford probably know the cars will be cancelled, they have just given the previous poster the wrong explanation for cancellation. The cars are not ex showroom/demo
I ordered one of the white MY LR from inventory. It's still showing 2 available!
I probably cancel the MSM MY RWD on order since November.
How do you find the production date through your VIN?
I have tried multiple VIN decoders and never been able to find this. I've also Googled it, and I only find that your VIN does not provide production date.
So went with Axa online and was an extra 125 to switch from the old car I got as a temp (2009 Mitsubishi Lancer) to the new Model 3 with a NCD protetion
Other was about 400 to insure - so about 525 in total fully comp and NCD protection
You won't find the exact production date with the VIN but an estimate. The exact date will be on your certificate of conformity.

My vehicle has an estimated build date of 8 Apr
So what's people's thoughts on this? Are Tesla once again trying to weasel out of another false advertising fiasco to generate... Actually I'm not sure what they're trying to generate!
Tell you something though, what they are generating for themselves on this is not positive!
Also I'd take ANYTHING from ANY Tesla rep with a bucket of salt! They aren't told much from HQ to begin with and often the left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing with them!
I’d lean that everyone with RWD discounts where they were sitting in Ireland - will get their cars.
Those with LRs which are in transit will not. But it’s up in the air.
Have to think, previous poster who said Sandyford are telling people the discounts won’t be honoured. Sure they were confused on why, but I don’t think some Tesla employee would take it upon themselves to start telling people cars would be cancelled for absolutely no reason. It’s usually opposite, all employees say order is fine until you hear at the last second that it isn’t.
