The only comfort is, it is now very clear they will have a massive oversupply of Model Ys. The vast majority of discounted orders last night will just lead to late cancellations of existing orders in June.
So at least if there are mess ups with people cancelling their existing order and discount then not being honoured etc, people will still get a car last minute no problem. Unlike the fire sale where people cancelled valid orders only to then have to re-order with no cars available!
They probably have a yard full of these but will only put them up on inventory in small batches.
I think the general intention is that even if they had 500 of the same spec, only one ad would appear as duplicates are pointless. For whatever reason the Irish website is glitched and they’ll show two ads of the same car, but never more than two.
Picked up Mr T this morning. Loads of cars there mostly MY and supposed to be collected today. I’d say there’s at least 40.
Car was spotless inside and out and the agent patiently explained a lot of the controls to me. 20% charge and I got 150km supercharging free. I live nearby so no issue there.

No problem at all! I test drove both and I prefer the 3. It suits my family circumstances as well as our kids are (mostly) grown up.
Just finished a web chat with uk. Transferred money from one car to the other. Just waiting email confirmation . was also told I would not get my 250e back.... They wanted to cancel orginal order on the Spot!! I declined that offer until funds are switched.

Got the text off Tesla with the vehicle registration and to pay Motor Tax.
When I log into the Motor Tax portal, the "Model" says its a Model 3?
Anyone else experience this - Is it something I should contact Tesla or Motor Tax office about?

The only risk left I think is that, whilst the prices on the basic MYs is legit. They have also sold 20+ falsely advertised cars that they will need to cancel. I’d fear that they might take a blanket - ‘cancel them all’ approach rather than picking out the prices that can be honoured.
No Tesla employee will be able to answer that question. We’ll all just have to wait and see!
Possibly a mix of all the second and third orders boardsies placed, to hedge their bets, and then recently cancelled. 🙂
That being said, there seems to be a lot of MY RWD from €44-50k inventory on the Tesla site today. At that price, it's definitely going to eat the Model 3's lunch.
"Coming Soon" as the date, though not sure what that means.
It takes a day or two to appear on the motor tax database. Don't worry about it for a few days.
How did you log in to motor tax online?
Is it the reg number (in my proof of registration doc, but no text from Tesla yet) and the last 6 digits of the chassis number as that's not working for me ?
Yeah it was Reg number and last 6 digits of VIN.
I got 2 text messages at the same time this morning, one was a reminder of the pickup time tomorrow and the other telling me to log into and pay motor tax.
I'll hold off paying if the model is incorrect and give it a few days to see if it changes
I’m so close to cancelling my MYLR order. I don’t get SEAI grant as it’s a business purchase so going to keep an eye out to see if any other MYLR come up in the next few days. I got the midnight grey colour which I don’t want to change but seeing as I’ve waiting so long already I’m thinking I could remove the FSD feature (it’s kinda useless?? And can be added later??) and upgrade to a MYP instead. I know it’s mostly aesthetic which I really like the look of and slightly reduced range but overall I’d be making some savings… ahhh, thoughts??
Without a doubt I'd swap FSD for Performance every day of the week and twice on Sundays!
No brainer. FSD is barely worth €1k in Ireland, never mind what they charge for it. Have used it lots and would go as far as to say it’s basically a scam in its current form and unlikely to ever work with current hardware. No surprise only about 3% of new cars in Europe choose to buy it.
Funny, the chat box on the Tesla inventory page is only offering "callbacks", so we know how likely that might be!
I wonder if they are "putting their heads in the sand" so to speak over this.
I assume it doesn't matter that I didn't get a text with my reg number as I have it in my docs section in my account ?
When did they say transfer would happen. They telling me up to 14 days
