Feels weird to have such a dramatic stroll to the title.
Very deserving winners. Played the best football in Europe this season.
Big win for Milan against Lazio. The 2 goals are worth a watch both good but both very stoppable and Lazio will be kicking themselves.
2nd was a great run, surprised he wasn't pulled down long before he got to the edge of the box.
But the 1st was good?
It was the determined run to win the ball and to do it without fouling the defender rather than the finish or anything like that.
Bonucci has anounced his retirement at the end of the season.
Down to 7th and 3 nil down aswell.
To be fair, they are a really poor team.
This weekend is crucial now.
Juve vs Milan, Fiorentina vs Roma and inter vs Atalanta
If Milan can stay 3 points ahead of Roma and Atalanta then the Champions League is all tied up
Roma out of the Champions League race. Inter vs Atalanta coming up which could end the race if Inter win.
Yeah but Roma can still get it by winning the Europa League. Inter started well but let Atalanta back into it, Inter really should have push forward and scored another couple.
True but in terms of the league the places will be set.
Yeah, looks like it's done now. I do hope that all 3 Italian sides win their European finals, Inter are the least likely but there's always a chance.
Edit: Juve can still catch Milan if they don't pick up at least a point tomorrow.
Spezia vs. Verona, 5th ever relegation play-off in Italy.
Spezia played 10 vs. 12 for the last 5 minutes. I am only joking, slightly! Mancini was subbed off after 82 minutes, but spent the next 20 minutes running up and down the sideline without a bib. Spezia were unlucky that they played a side who needed something because the ball boys refused to give them the balls when they were trying desperately to get back into the game. Europe beckons for Roma, just a few days after they were sickened by it.
Bad luck for Tammy Abraham in last game of the season to do his ACL.
looks like he was set for a potential move as well.
Maldini and Massara sacked by Milan.
The players most of whom they signed are furious.
They were probably the 2 key players in Milans revival.
Pioli and Ibra were pretty important also.
Season kicks off today, not sure how I see this season going.
Napoli have lost Spalletti and Kim but kept the rest, Natan and Veiga could be very good signings too. While I don't see them having it as easy as last season I think they should compete for the Scudetto.
Lazio are difficult to call, losing SMS is big for them but I think they've signed well, Kamada could be a great signing. I don't think they'll do as well this season though, I think it'll be a lot closer all round.
Inter have so far had an average at best summer, losing Onana and replacing him with Sommer is terrible, a huge downgrade imo. Augusto and Frattesi are very good signings and Cuadrado will be an improvement, I think he'll take the starting spot from Dumfries. A quality right sided CB is needed and without that it'll be a battle for top 4, a lot also depends on Thuram too.
Milan have lost Tonali but they've used that money to bring in a lot of potential, I think if everything clicks for them they have a much better squad than last season, even if the starting lineup is a little weaker. Hard to predict how they'll do, could see them completing for the Scudetto if they click or struggling for top 4 if they don't.
Juve haven't brought in much yet but I think they have a couple of signings left, Lukaku and Berardi look most likely. I think they could compete for the title, with no midweek football they'll have a nice rest between games so don't need as big of a squad, their first choices can play pretty much all the games.
That's without even mentioning Atalanta, Roma and Fiorentina, who could all push on and compete for the top 4 this season. I'm expecting a very competitive season and a lot can still change with transfers, but I'll predict Juve to win, Napoli 2nd and Atalanta, Milan and Inter fighting for 3rd and 4th. If I'm not mistaken, 5th could be enough to get CL this season with the new format, I could be wrong though.
Anyway, long post but fixtures for tonight are:
17:30 - Empoli v Verona & Frosinone v Napoli
19:45 - Genoa v Fiorentina & Inter v Monza
So much change at Milan its hard to know but commentators are saying that Chukwueze and Leao could be very exciting.
Losing Tonali is sad though as he was probably the most "Milan" player in years. Someone with money was always gonna cop on though and the other Premier League clubs are gonna be kicking themselves that there was no bidding war. They have also sold Heffernan to Newcastle and the talk of Omobamidele failed to come to anything.
interesting that serie A are using the expensive version of automated offside detection used first in the champions league. The prem still using var and manually selected lines.
Loses for Roma and Atalanta yesterday and tonight Juve only managed to scrape a draw.
Milan look very impressive. Pulisic has hit the ground running.
Lazio were rubbish vs Genoa
2 big games next with Roma the Inter to see where they really are.
Look good so far though and not missing Diaz at all. Still missing Bennacer too for another few months.
Well that's the end of Mourinho at Roma
Sassuolo at it again this year. Juve and Inter beat in the same week.
Only saw the Juve victory, but like their style.
Brahim Diaz situation is interesting. Read an article saying there was a fall out, he opted to go to Madrid last year and isn't being given playing time.
The reality is he tried everything not to leave, was apparently overheard last year saying he wouldn't play for Madrid if they didn't sell him to Milan, and is refusing to engage with Madrid and commit to them in terms of dedication.
He's agitating for a move back to Milan, but Madrid are purposefully refusing to sell him to Milan, this going on for 3 years now, out of spite, after seeing his commitment to Milan, and how he bought into the club
He's not exactly ripping up trees at Madrid, tends to be a bit part sub, not sure what the game us between the clubs?
Watching him, I don't think he has what it takes to become a regular starter at the Bernabeu.
Perhaps Madrid are hoping for a pile of cash for him just?
He wouldn't get on the current Milan team.
Losing him was inconsequential and selling Tonali was an absolute blessing in disguise.
I think we've seen one of the best goals ever
