55mins, yikes! What's so special about Teslas that they take so much more effort to insure I wonder?
Anybody picked up an M3 this week ? Curious as I'm supposed to be getting mine next week
I spoke to Zurich recently about insuring a M3 and the lady on the phone said they had only begun to offer insurance on Teslas and asked me multiple questions about whether the car had 'this Tesla autopilot thing'. The idea of insuring a Tesla seemed totally new/unfamiliar to her.
Picking mine up on Tuesday. Got the registration document today.
When I was considering buying a Tesla early last year, I called my insurance to see how much extra would have to pay. The very pleasant lady ummd and ahhd and said they would have to get back to me, saying that those Teslas go on fire a lot..π
They did get back to me quoting same as I was originally paying..

My own was transferred in 4 mins (Allianz).
so if you are with insurance company for 9 months and they refuse to move the policy to your new tesla, you cancel it and move to a different company .. does that mean you dont get no claim bonus for this year as you cancelled the policy earlier?
Yes very possible.
I'd argue it with my new insurer in that case, probably get a generic "computer says no" mind
So - picked up the car! MYLR White.
Train from Cork to Heuston / Luas to Fortunestown. Quick bite to eat in Citywest SC next to the Luas stop and taxi (3 taxis were queueing) to NVD (β¬11).
Last appointment of the day in Baldonnell. One other white MY RWD collected just ahead of me.
Car is fairly dirty (inside and out) - the guy said I could get it valeted myself and they will refund up to β¬100.
No other cars in Baldonnell with reg plates - a small number of MY and M3 without reg plates sitting there covered in dust.
Not much of a handover - push the stalk here to go forwards and here to go backwards π
SOC was 51% on collection. Drove to Sandyford - one M3 charging, other three chargers free. I met the lovely Richard and and his family from Letterkenny who had just picked up a MY RWD before me. Swapped numbers to trade Tesla tips π

Book the car in with a local detailer to get a good first wash and maybe a coat of Quick Detailer on it. Once you submit the invoice they will refund you.
Truth be told, Iβd rather collect my car covered in that dust from any dealer and get a voucher rather than them do it with a brush and tons of TFR!

Congrats! Wow, the place is even emptier than it was on Tuesday, looks like deliveries to Baldonnell are not keeping up with deliveries to customers.
Interesting about getting it valeted and getting a refund if it's dirty.
If I have to do that any recommendations for Mullingar or Athlone detailers?

Does anybody know is there such thing as a list of equipment that will come on the model you've ordered? Im curious about some things like the power trunk and whether it'll come on a M3 RWD (owner's manual seems to suggest its an option)? I can't see a list of standard equipment to expect when I search through the account...

I'm collecting M3 on Wednesday.... hopefully!!! Was meant to be today, but the "logistical reasons" (which we now know about) shifted me back two days.
I have a collection of M3 RWD on Thursday, fingers crossed.
This will be the 3rd confirmed appointment, so Iβll believe it when I see it, but surely, surely nothing more can go wrong π
