Now just where have I read that sentiment regularly a few months back??? Who had that line?
Unfortunately, that source is not credible:
Reports of a Ukrainian drone strike on an apartment block in the Russian city of Voronezh...110 miles inside the Russian border.

You have that literally backwards but you know that anyway 🙄
Death by window is beyond ridiculous at this stage.
I am wondering if will enter the official statistics of leading cause of death in Russia.
Battles will be won and lost for a while before we get the overall picture. Such is war.
This counter offensive is turning very bloody for the UAF, and let's not pretend it's not going to be. It's not the surprise offensive of last years lightning advance. Everyone knew this was coming and the Russians prepared accordingly.
In saying that I still believe the UAF has the motivation, training and and weapons needs to beat back the Russians. Once the defensive lines are overcome, and I believe they will be, Russian forces will have to withdraw further towards their own border. The cost will be very high for the UAF, but what choice, do they have? Fight and die, or just wait and die. They are fighting for their right to exist.
How you can be so evil to bomb the evacuees of Kherson after you destroyed the damn in the first place
Russia is so **** evil and I hope some day they'll be something similar to a Nuremberg trial and this time don't let the fuckers off
A bit more detail (click on 'show this thread')
Roman Vorobyov the commander of the DPR "Somalia" brigade has died.
Other wise the Russian military bloggers have been very quiet on developments in Zaporozhye this morning. Just a slow day, or bad news for them incoming?
The cowardly approach of drip feeding Ukraine what they have needed is a shame on us all. The "but but but they are not in NATO" line is pure gash.
What's right is right.
A very brave and just man. Only a complete moron would believe all Russians are monsters. I know of two alone here in Dundrum who are both appalled and embarrassed by Putin's actions. One lad comes out with us the odd weekend on the motorbikes and he the nicest person you could ever meet.
Okay
Talking about 'heroes' and 'bad guys' makes you sound childish. War is not a Michael Bay movie.
We were neutral in WW2 because it best served our national interest to be so.
Think in terms of months before any idea of whether the counter offensive is successful or not.
A few days tell nothing either way.
I think that Kyiv will be pleased though.
Always thought Claire was fairly Grumpy myself. Thing about her is that she's an empty vessel and they make a lot of noise.

Reading your posts Wheelie, you kinda sitting on the fence a lot of the time, but veering one side to the other like a driver over the limit. But more often than not with a subtle pro Russian agenda.. hmmm.
Nothing new in this of course, seen frequently in other accounts over the course of this thread. It'll make an interesting study for someone sometime.
The idea of fighting alongside a country which still occupied the North of our country might not have went well here. Especially when the status quo in the north was basically apartheid for republicans.
...
My thinking is that Ukraine should have been less ambitious and attacked where they are winning, north of Bakhmut. But it will take a week before anything in the south is resolved. Too early to make a call on anything yet. It is not too late to pull out of the south and go north.
I think that the consensus among the historians of the period is that just 16 years after the end of the Irish civil war the IRA was a potentially dangerous and detabilising force. Entering a war against Germany in alliance with Britain would have carried so many negative connotations from the WW1 period. In large measure neutrality was based on a realistic approach, distasteful as that may seem.
Remember that the real horrors of the 3rd Reich were not apparent until 1942-3, and that de-facto Ireland was on the allied side in non-military terms: a supplier of food and manpower to the UK, for example. Also, downed allied airmen were let go quietly but not Germans
Post-WW2 neutrality got acrried over into the Cold War era, and thus became a big thing with the Left, who were shockingly blind to the evils of Stalism and later Soviet policies. This nostalgia for Stalism and Bolshevism lingers on in the form of Clare Daly and others.
Why was Ireland neutral in WWII?
I will only reply to a real factual and historicaly accurate answer, not hyperbolic or emotional rants.
Losers love losers.
You mean the vile Russian government and its many supporters. Just as a reminder not all Russians are evil and liars, a tiny minority show great bravery and try to promote truth
All very well made points, but you are forgetting one thing......
She's an absolute cnut.
I listened to that podcast, and in essence her issues are these:
1. The Irish government, the Irish political opposition, the Irish media and the Irish people disagree with her and criticise her heavily, therefore all of those groups are wrong, not independent and need to adopt her views (including, it seems the Irish Times, who have published several opinion pieces and letters saying Ukraine should sue for peace).
2. We had the GFA, so why cant Ukraine just agree to a GFA type peace deal (even though they did, and Russia invaded anyway).
3. The EU has lots of lobbyists, and so is therefore bad (regardless of what they are lobbying for e.g. climate protection).
4. The EU and other European countries who wouldve been anti war and skeptical of the USA before Russia invaded are fully behind supporting Ukraine, and from this she concludes that something sinister has happened (as opposed to the more obvious reason, being them reacting normally to the enormity of Russias invasion and human rights abuses).
These are her views and you dont disagree with them. But do you actually agree with those views or are they your own views too?
I think some people are forgetting during the Kherson offensive UAF look heavy losses initially, particularly one unit that got completely taken out. But we know how they ended up with a substantial UAF victory.
They're winding others up, there is no content to it, no plan, no coherence of thought, no discussion to be had.
But the clare daly references are usually brought in before they go off the deep end into full putinbot/"I'm being persecuted for being a putinbot" mode.
Then there will be another account doing the exact same thing.
I suspect such large advances occurred after the Russians were on a disorganised retreat and the vast majority of Ukrainian men and equipment were advancing by road, not cross country. Great for speed but may get caught out now and again.
