No you're buying the wrong bread. Bread in its natural state should not last 4-5 days.
Good bread is best on the day it's baked/sold and should not last a week.
People thinking that Brennan's bread or other loaves of its type is quality bread are deluded and must never have had bread outside of Ireland.

Their crusty loaf they sell in Lidl which you can then slice yourself or in the machine is awesome in fairness.

Brennans bread = Chewing gum.Pure dirt.
Staffords bread one of very few decent sliced pans on the market.
Maybe there's not enough people buying Brennan's bread in your area, so what you see is sad sliced pans waiting to be bought, much like that little pooch in the animal sanctuary waiting for it's forever home!
Sure the milk sections in some of these kips they are literally selling the 1litre cartons with the expiry date the very next day. You got to keep the eyes open man, these people, they ain't your friend
Sale or return for bread I think, probably dairy products as well,maybe meat too.
It's always a challenge to get a decently fresh Brennan's pan though.
Amazing that a shop or any other money making effort would try to catch you out in order to maximise the profits for themselves. This is shocking stuff.
Make sure it's a full pan if you're reaching around them half pans aren't worth the effort. 🤨🤨🤔🤔

You need to reach in behind the shelf and grab the ones from the back.(Sounds filthy but it works!! 😂) I always look at the dates before buying most things.
