The school term is finished. So, when is the Burkes’ next Court appearance? It should be pretty quiet until then (famous last words).
He could end up having a stroke. his mummy wouldn't approve of that.
Maybe he applied to correct exams? I wonder would he be allowed now?
The appeal of his dismissal is scheduled for 7th July. It's not a Court appearance though, i'm not actually sure who conducts it, only that its a 3 person independant review board. Its happening somewhere in Athlone, no doubt a hotel. Mullingar Park Hotel was likely "fully booked up" for 7 July. 😏
I expect a repeat something along the lines of the "Where is John Rogers" debacle, as most likely Mammy and Ammi will attend and, well, we all know how that ends.
I guess he won't be back in court until either (a) WHS seek an enforcement of the fines and/or a permanent injuction against him or (b) hell freezes over and he purges his contempt.
I still expect him to be back at the school next September, irrespective of the outcome of any of the above.
I actually wondered the same about the exams, several posts ago.
As far as I know, he is not in any dispute with D/Education, so could technically apply to correct exams.
I sincerely hope he isn't an invigilator for the Junior or Leaving Cert in a different school from this week. It's something they don't need in terms of unnecessary distraction and potentially unnecessary media attention.
Having said that though, I was teaching for a number of years before moving on to other things and traditionally it was well established teachers who were called back year after year. At the time, it was difficult for younger teachers to get into.
I wouldn't like to see him as an invigilator either, but do you have to do both?

No - he wouldn't have to do both. I marked the State exams when I was teaching, but couldn't get my foot in the door of the invigilator positions.

He did amazingly well and shocked everyone. 23% from nowhere.
Finishing second to someone who won on the first count isn't 'amazingly well' in any scenario.
He got wallopped.
Nobody even heard of him before he spoke up and he went from less than 2% to an amazing 23%. More than 1 in 5 voted for a complete unknown because he called out a group of untouchables who are the darlings of the liberal do-gooders ie Tubs, Miriam etc He made me a lovely little sum in the bookies because I like many others knew that his statement would resonate with the country folk. Brilliant performance from a complete unknown just because he spoke the truth. I know many of you were annoyed but that's life.
Ignoring the pest is the best thing for him.

The point was that it was his statement regarding the Travellers that got him the 23%. I never heard of him but knew that statement would get him votes so I backed him heavily in the bookies to come second. I couldn't care less abput him except for that.
