Got a message on PJ for my preference in Clare (58) this morning. Haven't heard a tap from my first preference in Limerick (88) yet. 🤷‍♂️

I’m the same I got one for Leitrim but still waiting on one for Longford (first preference)

I think they are sent out at different times.

Does anyone have any experience of transferring over their increments from public to civil service and if it was facilitated?

"How would you deal with a client crying over the counter at you in social welfare because you can't help them and a big queue behind her?"

Jez. How do they expect to answer that one? Seems tough.

Just in the process now. Im starting in DSP on june 19th and I'm just finished after 2 years in HSE grade 3. Same level. They sent an increment form and i had it completed and stamped by my previous section head . I immediately emailed it last week and got a reply saying it will be processed but there is currently a 6 week backlog. So be prepared to be patient 🙈

I think you'll be called for Galway 1st, but then theres a large dept of education in Westmeath so you never know! Last year around mid june I got called for interview for Galway at end of July, i was no 94. So you never know. One piece of advice though, when choosing your location if you want to keep out of the city, dont even put Galway as last choice. I did, 6th place, and the only options i got was galway city!!! Good luck!

@burkemg thank you for that, did they offer you the increment option straight away with the job offer or did you have to ask for it and negotiate for it? 6 weeks 🙈 hopefully you’ll get back payed??

Ah that’s great, any luck I will get called for interview. How long after your interview did it take to get called for an interview? I sent back my preferences starting closest to where I lived and into the city as last (I hope this will be okay!).

what’s it like working in the CS? Are they flexible enough in terms of home working?

Appears to be over 600 vacancies in Galway so you might be in with a shot!

Where did you see that? I can't see there being that many available

Got 16 in Wexford. Anyone know if your already a TCO do you 100% have to interview again?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 40 VanBer

@SineadLB yes you would 100% have to interview again

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18 seekingajob2023

There’s a link in this thread way up and if you go into each county you can see

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 55 ✭✭sean3318

That doesn't mean that there is 600 positions available. It would be the total amount of CO'S across the various bodies and departments

Is it normal going into a permanent civil service CO role that there is initially a 12 month probationary contract?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18 seekingajob2023

Oh! My apologies…. Perhaps there are very few then.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 55 ✭✭sean3318

It's hard to know. There is a lot of retirements recently and internal promotions. People will drop the panel too if they refuse am offer which could result in a panel going above 200 fir example.

Yes & if you get promoted to a higher grade you have to complete probation for the new grade again

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 40 VanBer

@nhg thank you! That’s great to know

Haven't heard from PAS since results of passing TCO interview for my county 6 weeks ago. Now that the permanent cos are starting to get appointed I wonder is it unlikely that I will get a tco contract this year.

Somebody may be able to answer this. If a primary school teacher transfers career to a clerical officer position, what happens in relation to what scale they commence on?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 979 ✭✭✭crinkley

Start at the bottom, the two jobs aren’t comparable

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,761 ✭✭✭big_drive

Thanks. My cousin is thinking of switching. She was of the understanding that all time worked counted towards starting at a higher point. She's probably best to check it out officially

Hi guys, what does a core-flexi mean?

"Our core Flexi is 5" for example

It's very rare you don't pass 12 month probation, unheard of some would say.
