It would be amazing as a holiday home for the summer and thats really it. It would be miserable there in winter/autumn and spring.
Needs alot of money pumped into it. The new owner would also take on the risk of the house being on a very small island which presumably gets smaller every year!
Summer house, sure. Otherwise, no. You would want to have plenty of spare cash to throw half a million at it, and I very much doubt you would get insurance
Set amongst 3.5 acres of landscaped gardens says the auctioneer! They literally just cut the grass!!!! Plus nearly a million to live in Donegal?! It’s a no from me 🤦🏻♂️
Why wouldnt you get insurance? Of course you would be unlikely to get a typical house policy, but almost anything can be insured at the right price.
If ever I saw a property that was a flood risk, that's it!
I remember passing that Ballyshannon house years ago, every time on the bus from donegal to galway, always wondered who lived in it or what it was like. Looks like the photos were taken on a camera from my childhood as well.
It's also ~1km downstream from a hydroelectric dam, so whatever flood risk there is from the tide, its also susceptible to any sudden water release from the dam!
Ah I hear you. It wouldn't be somewhere I'd actually consider, had I the money. It's more that for a McMansion, it's not actually a bad looking one. Plus there's a fairly sizeable garden you could actually use for something.
Just in case any fella is looking to buy a convention centre for their cult
Thanks - but I got sorted a couple of months back up in Co Laois and now we're busy prepping...
That bar has to be the ugliest room I have seen in any house for some time.
I'm wondering about the handrail up high in the shower (in pic26 with the bandy toilet seat). What would they be using that for?
Its a support for the glass shower screen as it only has a frame on 2 edges.
It's not even Adare. It's Askeaton is the address if you look on eircode
Yet another million euro property with photos that look like they were taken with a child’s camera, no floor plan and awful drone photos! Jesus wept
Rats, that's far less exciting than I had imagined.
Its as close to Rathkeale as it is to Adare!
Yeah. I always think that when I see a sea front property. Will it still be there in 30 years?
You filthy rascal.
This may have been on this thread before as it’s been for sale for a while now but came up on my feed again due to a price drop
Owned by Irish millionaire Andrew Collins and his wife, former Apprentice and Celebrity Big Brother star, Luisa Zissman
Have you ever seen a more tacky interior in your entire life??? I’m sure it cost a pretty penny but it all looks so cheap and nasty. They sure do like their mirrored furniture!
Ah yes..... I recall pic 14 - Putins table. A year later and my post is still relevant!
The estate agent should do the Putin walk
For anyone nostalgic for The Brady Bunch you can buy the house it was filmed it. Only $5.5M
Looks pretty normal from the outside but put on shades before looking at the internal pics
Well that makes doing number 2s a bit of an adventure doesn't it.....
I would not particularly want to live in it but I feel respect for people who have the confidence to decorate their house the way they want it. The bathroom is a bit overdone but on the whole I quite like it.
Some of the interior design is very very Rathkeale
If Barcelona was a house!
That bathroom + a stinking hangover would be hell
I was just thinking that, even the wooden surrounds for the windows, if you were borderline getting sick from the drink, they'd send you over and the bathroom would ensure you get it all out! Far too much mosaic... and colours... and random... But it has potential!
Not to mention the saddest kitchen garden ever
