Rats, that's far less exciting than I had imagined.
Yet another million euro property with photos that look like they were taken with a child’s camera, no floor plan and awful drone photos! Jesus wept
It's not even Adare. It's Askeaton is the address if you look on eircode
Its a support for the glass shower screen as it only has a frame on 2 edges.
I'm wondering about the handrail up high in the shower (in pic26 with the bandy toilet seat). What would they be using that for?
That bar has to be the ugliest room I have seen in any house for some time.
Thanks - but I got sorted a couple of months back up in Co Laois and now we're busy prepping...
Just in case any fella is looking to buy a convention centre for their cult
Ah I hear you. It wouldn't be somewhere I'd actually consider, had I the money. It's more that for a McMansion, it's not actually a bad looking one. Plus there's a fairly sizeable garden you could actually use for something.
I remember passing that Ballyshannon house years ago, every time on the bus from donegal to galway, always wondered who lived in it or what it was like. Looks like the photos were taken on a camera from my childhood as well.
It's also ~1km downstream from a hydroelectric dam, so whatever flood risk there is from the tide, its also susceptible to any sudden water release from the dam!
If ever I saw a property that was a flood risk, that's it!
Why wouldnt you get insurance? Of course you would be unlikely to get a typical house policy, but almost anything can be insured at the right price.
Set amongst 3.5 acres of landscaped gardens says the auctioneer! They literally just cut the grass!!!! Plus nearly a million to live in Donegal?! It’s a no from me 🤦🏻♂️
Summer house, sure. Otherwise, no. You would want to have plenty of spare cash to throw half a million at it, and I very much doubt you would get insurance
It would be amazing as a holiday home for the summer and thats really it. It would be miserable there in winter/autumn and spring.
Needs alot of money pumped into it. The new owner would also take on the risk of the house being on a very small island which presumably gets smaller every year!
https://www.daft.ie/for-sale/detached-house-inis-saimer-island-ballyshannon-co-donegal/4540508 - Seems like it could be amazing but the listing is absolutely woeful.
https://www.daft.ie/for-sale/detached-house-brookdale-house-donegal-town-co-donegal/3921978 - It's a bit McMansiony- but I kinda like it.
Big house, cheaply finished and sparsely furnished, it wouldn’t appeal to me at all at half the price.
That third one does rather emphasise the dodgy unpainted doorframe!
Going by the pics you posted:
not to any great extent. certainly not to the extent of some of the ads posted here.
All of the internal photos are distorted with a wide angle lens.
These are the sort of pictures I was taking about. Trying too hard to be arty with their edgy angles, they do very little to inform viewers about the property IMO. Waste of space in the ad.
I am not seeing 'trying too hard'; the house appears to be dressed for the pics, I doubt that furniture was in the house originally, but its all reasonable enough.
No irony. They're not great pics but they are not deliberately misleading like a lot of estate agent photos.
If you've ever spent any time in the Shetlands you'd wonder if the Zombie apocalypse hadn't started there...!
I can't be the only person who saw it, the remote location, the walls surrounding it...and thought that's a perfect place for a bolt hole in case of a zombie apocalypse.
Definately the latter. But I do love a lamb roast!
I can't tell if you really mean that or are being ironic 😐️
Thats a bit harsh.....pic 10 - who doesn't love a lamb roast!
