Don't need it to tow so that would be grand.
Although it is confusing as 3 bikes can be heavier than some fully laden trailers...

Anyone have an experience on the colour choices? I've never owned a white car but the cost reduction seems compelling, otherwise I would go for the metallic blue.
The difference is about 2k when you account for VRT, or 5%, crazy stuff altogether
Its wreaking my head alright. I think I might go for it. The other colours are very dark.
The red is very nice but its €3700 extra with VRT etc. I love black cars but nightmare to maintain. The blue and MSM I agree too dark in my opinion. The multicoat white I'm very fond of and a wrap is always an option. I got quotes for wrapping around €2-2500.
Blue looks real nice in the sun. Otherwise it's dull. I went for MSM and love it.
The white cars look good, but the curves get hidden a fair bit. For the sake of 2k....if you plan to keep the car, choose the one you love.
Oh, and don't forget to use a referral code when ordering for free credits. Mine is in my signature and takes you to the M3/Y page. 😀
I never really liked white cars, but our present two and our previous two are white.😋
But they are easier imo to keep looking good, don't show swirls, rain marks and dust as bad as darker colours. Also still look good when a little dirty. Tar spots do show up however, but a quick once over yearly with tar remover should sort that.
Also a bright colour is apparently safer on the road, also cooler in sunshine (Though the Tesla roof does negate that a bit).
Colour is very much a personal preference, my choice would be MSM or the new silver when available. But I think need the light interior to give the car a lift.
Another advantage of the Tesla white is that is appears good quality paint. After my 21K kms there are no paint chips evident as yet..
Get the white car, and what you save on paint will pay for a wrap in 1-2 years if you so wish, to completely change the look of the car...
There are some fantastic looking wrapped Model 3's out there.
Thanks for the advice lads, I went for white. I think the money now and wrap later is a nice option which I didn't consider.
I take it estimated delivery May/June is total fantasy? I guess I get to join the other thread now (waiting room!)
Estimated delivery may not be too far out, it usually is the most plentiful colour being shipped..
You'll be driving a 231 car. Pretty much guaranteed.
Is it your first EV? if so, get working on a home charger now.
If I get a 231 I'm getting the full grant but I find it hard to believe that they have so many cars here or nearly here. It seems they pop up ones in inventory that are not in the country yet.
First EV and first new car. I have free charging at work so that will keep me going for a while but yeah next item.
When I ordered a few years ago, I was told by them that in every shipload of cars they always hold off assigning a certain percentage of them so as to put them straight into inventory… meaning more chance of snagging an impulse buyer if they know they could get the car fairly sharpish… (the Boards record was 5 days from order to collection) but as the boats get closer and if inventory sales are slow enough, they gradually start assigning those cars to existing orders… but most folk will see the inventory car in the same or similar spec to what they ordered and just end up buying them ones as they showed as available earlier…
When I ordered in January 2020 I was looking at April-May delivery (I think, as back then the cars came from Fremont), but I saw an inventory car in the exact spec I ordered so emailed them and they assigned it to me and I collected in mid March…
I still have a car on order from last year that I put on hold… and every delivery cycle they assign me a VIN (I just checked and I have a new VIN assigned (white RWD, 18” wheels and black interior)), and I won’t be taking it, so that will end up going down the line to whoever is next in the queue for that spec…
Some people in that situation would collect the car and then try to immediately sell it for a profit, like a guy on Done Deal who was doing it regularly apparently, but I believe he got burned in the recent price drop, which serves him right in my opinion.
Probably the same reason some dealers persist in pricing 3 Yr old M3s higher than a new car.
that makes absolutely no sense to me unless you want a car now!! but some of the pricing for 21/22 cars is nonsense.
The Model 3 in white is nice, it's a sprakly sort of white so isn't the worst fo showing dirt etc..., I had a blue 3 before and preferred that and went for blue again for a Y (think dark colors are better on the Y)
Absolutely none of those cars are selling though. I’ve had some old ads saved since the Jan 13 price drop, and they’re almost all still there and active, especially since the drop to €40k - waiting for some naive buyer i guess
the private sellers are in a worse predicament as selling an expensive car privately versus from a garage has a smaller pool of buyers
Same here and agree price drops are a rarity. I'm not overly familiar with Donedeal so wondering is it straightforward to refresh adds to give impression its a new add rather than one sitting there for weeks/months
Has anyone had loose wheel arch liner in the rear before? Is it a case of just glueing it back on or is it a bigger job? Don't want to end up with rust building up. Thanks
like a guy on Done Deal who was doing it regularly apparently, but I believe he got burned in the recent price drop, which serves him right in my opinion.
He was doing the same as a used car dealer would do, just he was doing it to new cars. It's business and business can be good as well as bad. He probably didn't get burned too badly as his tax bill would be lower now, mind you if he wasn't registered for tax I don't feel too sorry for him
2020 (Fremont 2019) SR+ having the ball joint / control arm problem fixed tomorrow, squeeking suspension on driver side like an old spring bed. Do the rangers typically replace both or just the problematic one, or do they just regrease it?
When I got mine done they replaced both sides..I believe the general consensus is when replacing any suspension parts, they be done in pairs.
If your car gets broken into does the internal camera record?
No. As far as I know the cabin camera feed is not saved on the disk.
Probably something to do with the privacy rights of the thief...🙄
No, but it would be a good suggestion to send through to them.
I think it deals with the question of privacy in general. They will have to deal with false positives and what not if they will save anything for whatever reasons. If the car is broken into and Sentry is enabled you get that saved at least in theory.
Only did mine on the driver's side. Full replacement.
That's what I don't understand, if it's able to record them outside the car then why not inside? Don't see why privacy should be of concern if someone has stolen my private property.
