My first trip to Slane was REM supported by Oasis just before they released What’s the story…. Jeez how the times have changed.
Well, he certainly wouldn't be my cup of tea. Whatever about his look (Smacks more of a deliberate attempt to distance himself from One Direction to me but hey), his sound is pretty forgettable. Nothing wrong with it, just not very interesting. Nothing to differentiate him from a dozen others.
But then, I'm not the target demographic by a long shot and there is no doubt he's huge. I'm trying to think of a solo male act that's as popular at the moment. Sheeran I suppose. So the kids like him and I'm sure they'll have their fun. Sneaking on a few WKDs on the bus, spend seemingly 3 days on the bus with no bathroom, knock back a naggin before they go through security, throw it up. scream themselves stupid and then passout for the 14 hour bus journey home :) For many, it'll be their first concert. For most, it'll be their first Slane so I hope they have their fun

No, he didn't sell it out instantly. There were plenty of tickets available, weeks after they went on sale. There are heaps of resale tickets available

Ireland has a real messed up taste in music it seems. The biggest gig of the year, of a few years even, and it’s given to a teeny booped with tattoos and strange dress sense. If England had this venue it would be artic monkeys headlining supported by the 1975. Instead we get Harry Styles supported by Jedward, what a joke.
The best looking concert venue is very different from the best concert venue.
Slane is the best concert venue in Ireland but unfortunately the acts playing there in past 15 or more years have been dreadful. Croke Park or Landsdown road do not compare as venue, even Semple stadium in better than them. Feile were great.
