I wonder is Claire Becks Sat show bigger or smaller than BRB. Hopefully they don't dick around with either show. Love them both.
I'm guessing actual radio listenership on Sat nights drops hugely from other days. That's why BRB so small
I am under 30 and have to admit that 90s dance music is a fair bit better than the likes of Joel Corry, Calvin Harris, Jax Jones etc.
The 90s was the GOLDEN AGE of dance music.
I'd agree Saturday evening listernership would drop way off, compared to Friday nights even, but that's still way low. People would have it on while getting ready to go out, having their pre-drinks, etc? Maybe? I'd be guessing typo, too. I mean, the Friday show is getting the people with kids (frequent mention of kitchen and bedroom discos), you'd expect Saturday to be in the same ballpark.
That Louise Cantillon and her cupla focal need to focal right off.
focal off even? 😂
The 7 to 10pm slot on TodayFM is awful. Music so shite
You`re spot on there, waaayyyyy too much now. She needs to button it
Not to mention the speed at which she talks, how can any non Limerick native understand her. OK the other Oirish here can tune in after a while but she seems not to be able to slow down. Surely a producer would gently let her know
She's not double jobbing on the 2fm breakfast traffic reports is she?
The cheek of her, using our first language where people might hear it! 🙄
Fergal D'arcy with a stint on 2FM this afternoon.
Because it's been a nice morning in Dublin as, it appears, it has been for large swathes of the country.
Perhaps he should say it's nice in Dublin and hopes it's nice elsewhere
It's because you lied when you were 17.

The limited Today FM playlist is now getting very annoying.
Current hit songs are getting 100+ plays a week. However, more annoying is the small selection of 90s/00s pop & rock songs added - these are also heavily repeated.
The 90s dance shows with Dec are normally enjoyable, but again it's mostly the same small selection of songs week in week out.
Agree with you totally on the repetition of the current hits. Maybe it's just coincidence or confirmation bias, but I'd swear 9 times out of 10 when I switch on the radio in the morning for D&D I hear "Trust Fall". Cian Ducrot, I must hear 5 or 6 times a day - or at least it feels that way.
Not much Dec can do, though... I mean, it's not like they're making any new 90s dance songs 🤣
I had to look up "Trust Fall". Apparently it's a P!nk song.
I get it though, Dec is playing for the masses and that’s what they want. He does well filling this role.
He also re-released the dance classic SPQR just today, so credit due for that.
I might have bought a copy! 😉
Kelly Clarkson's 'Since I've been gone' on an endless loop the last few weeks
Today fm is a tough listen these days (as usual I suppose)
Between their nonstop plugging of the summer cash machine, and then the constant giveaways and competitions.
Whatever the bare minimum requirement for music is per hour, they must hit it.
I remember her a few years ago as a newsreader on Classic Hits. She was then given a Friday GAA talk show with someone. I don’t think it lasted long.
Not music related but The Last Word with Matt Cooper. Matt seems to be absent a lot lately from his show. Anyone know why? Hope he's okay healthwise.
I'm guessing it's simply time off or holidays.
I find Dermot and Dave good on the whole but they don't half live getting free things or calling out stuff on air in the hope of getting this find that with Dave more so than Dermot.
I do however find it ridiculous that they are sending them over to do a radio show in Australia for the women's world cup yet they won't be able to get to any of the games. It's basically a free jolly for the lads and they could do the radio show from Ireland.
I don't listen often enough anymore to know but is the style in which Ben Finnegan reads the news bulletins - like he's talking to a bunch of kids- replicated across all news bulletins?
Daragh Quilty told everyone that he was the “Jesus Christ of the airwaves” the other day.
I can't listen to Quilty at all
He’s very hard on the ears alright, I dunno what it is about him but just can’t take to him.
Listened back to an hour of Ed Smiths show and then listened back to an hour of Tom Dunnes show.
Night and day. Ed used to do a better version of Tom Dunnes show until they started make him play stuff that 18 year old white American college kids were listening to 20 years ago. Along with Coldplay.
I used to enjoy listening to Dara Quilty but it's the same thing every time with the likes of his One Note Guessing Game, no matter what show he's covering. The game was stale by the time he was finishing up on 98 fm I thought
