lmao
I lifted the paywall for this article. The Wagner boss reportedly went on a rant that Russia is poised for a 1917 style revolution if the elites stay out of touch, says Russia must operate like North Korea for a few years.
“We are in a situation where we can simply lose Russia,” Prigozhin said, using an expletive to hammer his point. “We must introduce martial law. We unfortunately … must announce new waves of mobilization; we must put everyone who is capable to work on increasing the production of ammunition,” he said. “Russia needs to live like North Korea for a few years, so to say, close the borders … and work hard.”
Citing public anger at the lavish lifestyles of Russia’s rich and powerful, Prigozhin warned their homes could be stormed by people with “pitchforks.” He singled out Ksenia Shoigu, the daughter of Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu, who was spotted vacationing in Dubai with her fiancé, Alexei Stolyarov, a fitness blogger.
“The children of the elite shut their traps at best, and some allow themselves a public, fat, carefree life,” Prigozhin said in the interview, which was released Wednesday on video. “This division might end as in 1917, with a revolution — when first the soldiers rise up, and then their loved ones follow.”
...
“My advice to the Russian elites — get your lads, send them to war, and when you go to the funeral, when you start burying them, people will say that now everything is fair,” Prigozhin said in the interview.
People like Clare Daly should put away their Ladybird books and read things like the article below from Jan 2022.
(Sorry, for some reason can't post the archived version)
Vid in question.
What’s the big deal? Would UKr not have a number of assistants/ deputies to replace him if something happened. Likewise the same goes for any position anyplace that becomes vacant for whatever reason. NOBODY IS IRREPLACABLE
Losing the head of your armed forces is never a good thing.
Of course someone can replace him but will they be as good? Not to mention the propaganda win for the Russians if that happens
If he's dead there would be no point in covering it up, they'd get found out eventually. Most likely he's injured and they hope he recovers.
Poke people a while and their true colours come out. You with your false concerns for the deaths of poor Ukrainians yada yada, turn out to be nothing more that a piece of dirt on the sole of the Russian jackboot.
Looking at Twitter lately, it's quite clear that Prigozhin has a bot farm running somewhere. There's a huge amount of tweets from quite easily identified bot accounts posting similar drivel and just generally positive things about him. He's blatantly making a play for power in a post-Putin Russia, perhaps even trying to position himself as the revolutionary general to lead the coup.
It's great news tbh, the more fractured Russian leadership is, the easier victory will be for the Ukrainians.
Yeah it makes zero sense keeping everything secret, the same applies to losses and other stuff, the idea oh he's too busy in a secret bunker somewhere planning is laughable,
Either something has happened to him if not either he makes an appearance or they tell the rest of Ukraine what happened
Putin is not missing. He was at an awards ceremony for teachers yesterday, and the day before that looking at some old maps claiming that Ukraine as a state doesn't exist.
Don't know how reliable this news agent is but a hit on him and others close to him is a serious set back.
Word of a Russian major general Vitaly Gerasimov near karkiv so not all bad news hope the former is wrong
It would be easy for the dictator of Russia to film bits in advance and in the event of fortune have those bits ready to roll for weeks maybe a month ahead if needs be.
Truth and the Kremlin don't know each other.

You've been making these same claims that Putin is sick/dying/missing/hiding/fake for a year now?
How about some evidence of your claims?
It is clear from photographs that Putin has at least one double. I've seen photographic analysis and he don't look the same.
And when the elite start burying their children, the war will soon stop.
That is not the argument.
The claim is that Putin has went missing.
He was at an awards ceremony yesterday, talking about Ukraine the day before that, and with the Iranians last week discussing a new railway.
What is to be gained about making stuff up about him being missing?
charlie_says threadbanned
Sure, there he is talking with the Iranians last week about the construction of a new railway link.
They are talking about a railway agreement, Iranians are there. It's a current event with an external party.
In a word: Beria, and see what happened to him! Hopefully the same fate will befall Prigozhin.
The Iranians co-announced the deal on the same day.
I suppose next you are going to say that Iran is part of this great conspiracy theory to hide Putin's death?
Prigozhin founded the International Research Agency, the organisation alleged to have interfered in the 2016 US elections, so it goes without saying that he has immense influence on social media and has plenty of bots to endorse his views.
What Prigozhin is currently up to is really difficult to tell. There are plenty of theories floating around:
One theory popular with some Russians is that his outbursts are Putin's "special operation within a special operation". Essentially it's that he's Putin's man on the front, and that his analysis and complaints on social media are Putin's way of weakening Shoigu and Gerasimov and keeping them in their box.
Another theory is Igor Girkin's view that Prigozhin is backed by powerful figures in the Kremlin, like former PM Sergei Kiriyenko, who are already planning to succeed Putin and that Prigozhin is paving the way for a coup through his critisisms.
Of course Prigozhin could be making a play for succeeding Putin himself. His comments are certainly populist and will probably go down well with that section of the public who want victory at all costs. The Russians seem to consider this less likely as he's too much of a political outsider without the necessary support from the various potential factions in the Kremlin.
Prigozhin likes to present himself as representing the ordinary soldiers on the front and distant from the Moscow elite. Of course he's not a soldier, he's a small-time criminal turned caterer, and has no military background at all.
Ok, so your comment was just to get back at the people claiming Zaluzhny was missing?
It won't happen. The likes of Ronald Reagan, Robert mc Namara, Dick Cheney, Richard Pearle and John Bolton are not much different from Putin and the Russian elite in that way. There would be less wars in the world if the hawkish elites had to send their children to war.
Prigozhin is more or less untouchable, he is not a stupid man, he would not be making these public statements belitting the Russian MOD other wise.
That's true, but in more recent times very few of the elites from the major powers send their own to war. I think Prigozhin has the backing of Putin for what he is doing. It fits his profile as a spy, he is playing people off each other. Speaking of his time as a spy, Putin spent time in Ireland during the 80s.
I was referring to the 'fake' bit - "You've been making these same claims that Putin is sick/dying/missing/hiding/fake for a year now?"
This is true and I believe that many of these men from landed families died, at disproportionately higher rates than the ordinary conscript. They were often commissioned as lower level officers like captains and lieutenants and were expected therefore to lead their men into action.
In this conflict, the Russian commanders and officers seem to be directing operations at a further remove. Conscripting the young men of the Russian middle classes and elites would be a fierce shock.
Problem with Prigozhin though is that no reliance at all can be placed on him and his utterances.
