France offering substantive security guarantee to Ukraine,
Zelensky won't settle for anything less than full membership
The Washington Post report highlighted plans for the upcoming NATO summit in Vilnius, set to take place in July, where the Ukraine NATO Council is expected to be launched. This council would serve as a platform for future membership considerations. The proposed agreement would grant Ukraine priority access to arms transfers and advanced technology, while enabling Ukraine to summon council meetings and seek assistance. The United States would serve as the primary guarantor of these security arrangements, working alongside European NATO members. Kyiv Security Compact, proposed in September 2022, outlines a comprehensive plan for Ukraine’s future NATO membership.
It will be interesting to hear what other Nato members think about the idea of a nonmember given the ability to summon council meetings and seek assistance from the alliance,
they're in Not NATO (NNATO)
Regarding the Belgorod situation, has it been in any way linked to the forecasted Ukrainian counteroffensive, or is it just a useful coincidence? Is there any credible evidence to say that those causing this trouble for the Kremlin are being provided with intelligence, capital or material means by Ukraine and/or its allies?
Officially: No evidence at all. A completely organic uprising of concerned Russians within Russian territory etc etc........(basically whatever horssh1t the Russians peddled back in 2014 when they invaded)
Unofficially: I think this is unlikely to have happened without the UAF sanctioning it. They may even had got the nod from the USA as well. It answers a lot of strategic questions about how agile the Russians defences are so is likely part of the Greate Strategic plan for the counter-offensive
Hopefully. People saying that this uprising will draw troops away from the front line, what about the Rosgvardia? Is it not their specific job to keep a lid on this kind of thing?
That's brutal.
Has anyone seen the real Putin recently?
Meanwhile in Kursk...
Let's get a few pints in first, though...
Seems relevant.
Who would Wallace and Daly support if China and Russia came to blows?
Wallace surely China.
Daly maybe Russia ??
Whichever "the west" is against
They’d still blame NATO for provoking it, and find a way to side with North Korea.
Any sign of Luka lately
These ones
Daly some how believes that honest deals can be done with an utter abomination of a human like putin…… she is correct in saying that the longer it goes on the more innocent lives will be lost but until putin and his like minded paranoid comrades are defeated and overthrown a proper and lasting ‘peace deal’ is not possible. if we can believe the stats about the number of Russian casualties (up to 200,000 in 15 months) military hardware destroyed etc there has to be a limit as to how long they can sustain/finance this madness/war……? The Americans finally gave up in Vietnam having lost 60,000 in ten years ( not sure how correct this is ) how many will the Russians have list if this goes on another 8 years and 9 months….1.7 million…?
The Russians liberating Belgorod from those in the Kremlin who want to recreate the might of the Soviet Union in which they grew up and rose to prominence are from the same region where the White Russians drew most of their forces in Russia, (that and Ukraine) when they fought the Red Army earlier after the Revolution in 1917.
Their populations met a savagery and campaign of murder that went on for decades and saw millions upon millions killed by the Red Army in that one region, the current Russia is a mild soft version of the Soviet Union but it is intent on returning to that past and that's why arming those who are willing to fight the Comrades in the Kremlin is as important as supporting Ukraine.
He appeared today and spoke about how he's going to be around for a long time ....
Clare Daly exposing the working conditions of forced slave labour North Koreans working in logging camps in Siberia and rounding on Russia and China for such.
Who am I kidding. 🤪
Why did he pardon that blogger yesterday he went to great lengths to take off that Ryanair flight a few years back?
Sounds like appeasement to arrest some change in the country. Population finally getting fed up of the whole situation.
Quiet possibly, remember he's completely isolated himself on putins behalf while agreeing to surrender the country to motherland, something has changed his mind and I would did something happen around the may 9 parades ,now imagine a group of armed Belarusian crossing the border into Belarus via ukraine, we know the Russians won't be running to his aid
If Putin was even a fraction as clever as the Chinese, this 3 day event would have a different outcome, for sure!! I had a Chinese colleague one time, a journalist. Very pleasant Lady, spoke perfect English, and was a very good conversationalist, could and would speak on any subject, except one. China, any mention of China, and the shutters came down. It was a completely taboo subject. And when they talk about the inscrutable Chinese, she was the epitome of it. Absolutely impossible to read by her facial expressions what she was thinking Xi Jinping would be no different. Of course, there's a lot of imponderables to consider, Putin is very old by Russian standards, so even looking 5 years into the future is pushing it a bit for him, but you never know, do you? But, yes, definitely Xi has his eyes on Siberia, and be it 5, 10, 15, or more years in the future, he will take control of what was in the past Chinese territory. If the Federation collapses after the war or Putin's demise, then Xi will move even sooner, I'd say.
The Dutch and Danes stepping up.
Great thread by an ex-towtruck operator debunking latest Russian propaganda attempt.
Jack’s House on Twitter: "1) The Russian government released this photo of the alleged Belgorod insurgents vehicles after a battle. I used to be a tow truck operator. This is staged. These vehicles didn’t crash into that trench. I’ll explain why⬇️ https://t.co/vNJpH0qhqY" / Twitter
Any future weapons development could be treasonous at the discretion of a Hitlerian leader.
It's been happening for the last century in Russia
His debunking is nonsense. He starts with the an assumption that the humvees have been driving at the time of the airstrike. His entire debunk is based around this. "There are no tyre tracks of them driving into the crater". "If it crashed into the trench at speed it would leave an impression in the trench wall" etc.
The problem is that the initial assumption is one of his own invention. The premise claimed by the Russians is that humvees were parked up outside a building, they were stationary and hit by an airstrike. There is video portraying this.
I am not saying the incident was real, staged, anything, I have not put any time into examining it. But this particular debunking is nonsense.
Perhaps the trench just opened up and gobbled them. If you did bother putting a small amount of effort into looking at it, it’s pretty clear they are not crashed or exploded.
They're claiming that those two vehicles were hit by an airstrike, and blown to where they are? Now that is nonsense. If they were hurled, by the force of an explosion, into the trench, they would not look like that.
It's an obvious, cheap, setup.
