Nice try son
All beef no dung
Or the Mueller report.
Or the Bi-partisan Senate intelligence committee.
Speaking of inconvenient truths, why did you delete your EskimoHunt account?
There are at least four posting here who I now just glide past. Spouting absolute rubbish and whataboutery. Just don't bother reading or replying to them.
Ah now, enough with the dead-naming 😉
The economy under Trump did not "Take off like a rocket" or anything close to it.
Pre-Covid , pretty much every measure of Economic growth was slower under Trump than under previous Presidents.
Yes , he was hitting high points , but he was starting from already high positions , but the actual rates of growth were quite a bit lower.
The economy had also already started to turn on him as a result of his tax cuts before Covid hit.
Like everything with Trump, his economic performance is a gross exaggeration wrapped up in lies.
It's an interesting breakdown of the various pro-Trump fauna we'll encounter. What interests me a bit is the insistence that they are either not a GOP voter, or not a Trump fan but want to support or parrot an aspect of the man for some reason. It's almost as if there is an awareness that there's really little in the way of an honest defence of Trump's behavour, and so there's a need to distance themselves from him. But still, there is this need to defend him.
Is it for the sake of picking an argument, is it simply for want of being a "winner" in a debate, or is it a deeply seeded need to not find themselves on the "losing" side of a social argument? Could these fellow Boardsies be a microcosm of why the MAGA movement is still a thing, even after everything has happened?
It's interesting to observe, and a bit exhasuting to intereact with, but it does give us a window into this world where people can consume themselves and even put their health on the line (in the case of Covid beviour in the US etc..) all in service of wanting to be right...no matter what the truth actually is. I sense that Trump served as a permission slip for this behaviour, that it wasn't wrong to be that dishonest if a US President could also repackage his blatant lies, and seemingly get away with it.
The MAGA / Trump fandom form a "safe-space" if you will. A place where it's ok to parrot comforting lies, while the rest of us have the gall to present the world in a more realistic way, can be dismissed as a cabal of Radical Left-Wing Marxist Commie Alphabet Woke-idiots.
I deeply suspect that Trump is a person who can say the stuff they want to say, act the way they want to act, give the two fingers to those (who MAGA people believe) that think they are better than them, you know - "back when men were really men". (LOL)
He represents political "un"correctness. These people find themselves at see in a world where they can't be racist, or sexist, who believe that people have gone soft, or that somehow, intellectualism will be ruination of us all.
So they will gloss over how he's manifestly stupid, or is an egregious liar, or has legal defeats and many more cases outstanding, or that he has outdated ideas, or doesn't give two sh1ts about the average joe, it doesn't matter to them because if Trump says stuff that they can't, well at least it's getting said, even if they aren't the ones doing it.
Very well put. Or as the MAGA crowd might say, "a classic case of TDS" which is the only defence they have.
Is it for the sake of picking an argument, is it simply for want of being a "winner" in a debate, or is it a deeply seeded need to not find themselves on the "losing" side of a social argument?
When you have people blaming Donald Trump for US job losses rather than as a consequence of the global COVID-19 pandemic, it demonstrates that the bolded part above, at the very least, shows the irony of your position.
Nothing quite says desperation like the constant regression to 3 letters and touting his failure to deploy a nuclear weapon as some sort of success. By the same logic, I'm a success because I can operate a toilet.
"he didnt nuke anyone or cause WW3."
Excuse me! He nearly nuked a hurricane!
The key question is did Trump achieve enough during his time to warrant being given another chance? He has some achievements, but was the overall worth it?
The chaos of covid showed how unable he was to deal with a significant threat to the US. The continued refusal to accept the democratic will of the people and, still now, refusing to accept that Biden won. His attack on the judiciary, his calling those that attacked the capital as patriots and that he would pardon them all should he win.
What has he done, what do you expect him to do with another term, that negates all that? His economic performance, even prior to Covid, was good not not exceptional and he used a massive increase in the national debt to achieve it.
He failed to deliver on any of his key items. The wall, healthcare, infrastructure. by his own admission he completely failed to make America great again. According to him it is a failure at this point which cannot even trust its own elections or its own legal system. Its security apparatus, FBI, CIA and the police, are all completely compromised and unfit for purpose.
Sop even if you ignore, or even agree with, his treatment of women, his lying, his use of public funds to make money for himself, his complete failure to protect America from Covid, what is it that you think he will deliver that will make it worth it?
Nobody has argued that Trump deserves a second term.
The reality of the "Trump economy" is that when you strip away the hyperbole and spin and look at the actual facts and statistics going back 50+ years , his economic performance was mediocre at best. 2017-2019 (Pre COVID) , his was the poorest overall performance of any President since Reagan with the exception of GWB.
The growth rates seen under Obama continued, albeit at slower rates , Trumps policies had no material positive impact on the economy and his one major economic policy - The Tax cuts, have been proven to be a bust and in fact all the measures show that the economy was already beginning to slow down and dip in the second half of 2019 in part because of the impact of those cuts.
Covid happened and yes , like everywhere the major economic indicators cratered but it is also true to say that Trumps prevarication and politicisation of the issues caused the impact to the US economy to be larger than it needed to be.
Trump did nothing materially positive for the Economy from a policy perspective and any claims about "Greatest Economy in history" etc. are simply hyperbolic nonsense much like the majority of claims from Trump about his entire life - Everything he's ever done in his life he describes as "the greatest ever" ,"biggest" , "best" etc.
Brilliant.
You spend your time on here defending a guy who did such a sh1t job the first time, he shouldn't be allowed anywhere near the White House again.
Hats off sir.
In other news , Trump just sued the Washington Post for $3.7B because they printed an article about Truth Social that detailed the factual evidence that they are being investigated for Securities Fraud.
As is typical for a Trump law-suit the details are all over the shop.
They are suing the Washington Post for printing an article about Securities fraud , but then discuss at length an article from the Guardian which is the one that mentions securities fraud.
Has he ever actually won a single one of these cases??
The winning isn't the point - it's to keep the grift going, keep the knuckle-draggers riled up. It also, handily, means that if someone else were to ask him a perfectly reasonable question about why his social media company is being investigated for fraud (hint: it's because he is a fraud), then he can say he can't discuss it as it's part of an ongoing case.
he is the Enoch Bourke of American politics...
He only files these so that he can run to his base with some fundraising email saying "we're being persecuted, please support us so that we can fight the witch hunt with this wonderful lawsuit that's guaranteed to win". The lawsuit fails but by then, he's already raised millions from it. That's how Donny rolls with these things.
New putin sanctions of trump enemies:
joe scarborough
stephen colbert
rachel maddow
GA Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger
the officer who shot moron MAGA Ashli Babbit
etc
But still not trump or any of his family, funny that
I guess Trump sees him as a VP pick lol
From first hand experience the economy took off when Trump signed in the JobsAct in early 2017. The amount of extensions put on houses, the rise in wages and all the rest I mentioned earlier,
Hope you didn't hurt your back moving that...
