Does anyone know if he turned up at the school today?
As far as I know, he had until the end of April to appeal his sacking with the board of governors but unsure if he did.
I know he can appeal all these cases again up to the supreme court but does he expect to sit outside the school until then?
The daily contempt charges are up at around 80k now so with the 15k trespass charge he'll break 100k in fines later this week.
If as expected he's on the hook for everyones costs he's look at another 350/400k in legal fees as well.
You’re not wrong! I’ve lost count of the amount of days over all the cases but maybe Loueze could start a new running total? 😂
Absolutely - I'd say when you add everything up across all of the cases he's looking at a figure rapidly approaching €500k if not already beyond that.
Not a chance 😂 It would cost more than that for one day in the High Court. He’s looking at hundreds of thousands at this stage.
Someone they didn't pray to hard enough.
The only other country in the world named after a woman. Perhaps we could send them there ?
Santa Lucia or St Lucy. Though St Jude would probably be more appropriate for the family
Wouldn’t they be the saint of corrective lenses and hearing aids?
😂

You're probably right about the AI bot.
And you are right about the fines being for contempt of court, not "turning up at the school".
Given Justice Owens has now made his ruling, I don't know where he can go from here. The Court of Appeal didn't go too well for him last time!
I find this solicitor on youtube, Terry Gorry, gives nice, succinct summaries of the rulings.
Who’s the Patron saint of eye sight?
Probably written by an AI bot then.
I thought the fines were for his contempt of court? Seeing that he was fined for weekend days and days the school was on holiday.
I think we can all agree the quality and accuracy of the reporting on this case has left a lot to be desired. Particularly around the reason for the daily fines.
As I understand it, the DPP decided they would not proceed with a criminal prosecution for trespass.
But I believe Justice Owens could still impose a fine for damages for trespass, as part of the civil case which is what he did.
According to that week old article his fines are for "daily arrivals at the school" and then goes on to say there's no prosecution for trespass.!!!
Apparently yes. But he brings books to read now.
Yes. Is there any reason why you think he wouldn't? Although the Burkes love the publicity, that's not why he's continuing to turn up.
So what’s the story, is he still turning up daily at the school?
They are very much a cult. I thought that Enoch’s stay in Mountjoy was his first time away from home for an extended period but he and some of the others have done degrees abroad.
It just shows how strong the indoctrination is that after spending a few months in London not one of them stopped sipping the ‘kool-aid’.
Not recognising any authority but their God and refusing point blank to talk to outsiders is all part of cult behaviour.
I'll get Masandeman and sandamieeman after you.
What do you want - a warning point for every day?
😀
I don't have an ounce of sympathy for these people. Saying they are "mentally ill" or anything along those lines is an easy out for them. They've made a holy show of themselves and Enoch is certainly completely unemployable in this country now.
Justice Owens has commented, more than once, that "he is the author of his own misfortune".
Like many, I wondered why Justice Owens was taking so long to deliver his ruling.
Now I think it was because he was waiting for the outcome of the DPP's decision whether to prosecute EB for trespass at WHS or not.
I'm guessing, if the DPP had proceeded with a charge for trespass, Justice Owens would have left it to take its course.
But as they decided not to proceed, he imposed a €15k fine for trespass.
Justice Owens also said the school was now entitled to a permanent injunction prohibiting EB from turning up at the school.
I guess that puts another nail in the coffin of EB trying to get his job back! ⚰️
Only right costs awarded against him after the show he has been making.
And then there was the Ammi court case too.
The WRC person who described them as a travelling circus wasn't wrong at all.
Why would they need psychiatric evaluation though?
And iirc, EB already had some of WHS costs awarded against him, for the injunction.
(sorry its The Mirror).
No - Simeon's case was heard on 17 April and he was convicted, fined €300 and sent on his way.
He refuses to pay the fine, of course, and has made a whole other raft of complaints to the Garda Ombudsman against the Gardaí.
He and Ammi claim to have been assaulted by a "mob" of up to 10 Gardaí, and Simeon had to stand between his mother and the Gardaí to protect her.
Is the other brother Simon still in prison?
No, it's a fine imposed for the trespass.
The total legal cost figure hasn't been given yet.
