What corroborated documents show?
We had the same discussion months ago with the usual suspects the UK are F16s really and how many f16s are the UK giving Ukraine since they don't operate them, but F16s, again a previous article I linked on here said exactly what the article I just shared that literally said within the next two years and we're going to train new pilots for new aircraft,
Nothing in the two articles on Bahrain or various unmanned sources had said anything about the RAF providing the training,
But yet the usual suspects know better
Can I ask why it's important to you to try and propagate the argument that they won't be available to Ukraine until a year out or more? Even when it is so clearly incongruent with what military officials and corroborated documents show?
It's not like the Russians will read the thread and let their guard down.
Bakhmut last night
No surprise there
Gonna side with the USAF on this one sorry.
Seems the vice Air Marshall doesn't agree with that opinion either, ands it's not the first time,it been Said they will be training new pilots for the new Ukrainian airforce
I don't know what you're still trying to defend there, as they're not youngsters with no flight experience. Have at it.
And yet the UK said otherwise but what would the RAF know about it like they are leading it
What about F14s’ being upgraded to F16 standards and then ship them to The UKr as F14s’ - and Bob’s your uncle
“This training will take place outside Ukraine at sites in Europe and will require months to complete,” the official added. “We hope we can begin this training in the coming weeks.”
Just how long those pilots will need is unclear, but on Thursday Yahoo reported that based on an internal US Air Force assessment, it will likely only take about four months to train them on how to operate F-16 fighter jets, much less time than previously cited.
Why don't you let them know? I'm sure they would be very appreciative of your expert insight on everything.
This I'm actually jealous of ,
I don't think it did anything specifically better but i believe it had a lower failure rate compared to the the other firearm in the OICW competition ? At the time.
Oddly enough the original OICW combination of rifle optics and intergrated airburst grenade launcher turn up on Korea at one point
A current active duty general from Ukraine with direct familiarity with the training and evaluation partnership, says 6 months. And you should read your lads quote again.
Ukraine reportedly has nearly 50 seasoned fighter pilots, ready to train on the F16.
They are not, 'youngsters who have never flown before'
There's also,
Air Force spokesman Yuri Ihnat said F-16s may be the best option for a multi-role fighter to replace the country's current fleet of warplanes, which are older than modern Ukraine itself. He said Kyiv was using four types of Soviet-era planes.
"The pilots are saying it is not a problem to fly the F-16, they could learn it within several weeks. To fight with these planes is a very different thing, to use all types of weapons,” Ihnat told a news briefing.
"Pilots say they could master it in about half a year," he said.
I don't understand people like that who NEED to be right about something.
I got to handle an XM8 a few months back. Astonishingly light, good optic.... but did it really do enough better at "shoot 5.56mm bullet thataway" which an M4 with a good optic to warrant the cost of the introduction into service of a new rifle?
Maybe just take this as a lesson in humility.
Training has been green light by the Americans. The details of who, how many and when, in terms of the F-16s are going to be ironed out over the next few months.
We have seen this all before with tanks and other weapons, like Patriots and HIMARS.
The fact you are dying on this hill when it's plain and obvious for all to see the freight train is coming over the hill is a but mad and funny.
Lol 🤣🤣🤣
I don't have a ret.vice marshal agrees your opinion
6 months is "within 2 years," I note.
The source is notably, retired. And quote, "for a youngster "never having flown before"."
Their MiG pilots/aces were sent for a 3 week eval to the US, and the apparent/reported conclusion from that is they can be trained on the F16 in as little as 6 months, done right.
Not according to the experts
Again two years time
6 months, more like.
“They spent three weeks there and were trained on an F-16 simulator how to fly together as two pilots using weapons. The results came out very good: Ukrainian pilots can learn to fly and operate weapons systems on the F-16 in less than six months,” Gen. Holubtsov said.
Nothing to do with ukraine.,the F16 was always exported to non Nato members
Great Aircraft, great company, great systems, still nothing to do with the current situation in ukraine, its more than likely it won't happen for a couple of years at least
About the plant in Greenville, SC. Also alluding to the fact that we have and will sell them to even non-NATO partners, for the right deal.
Greenville has transformed into a quite serious technological manufacturing hub in the past decade. F16s are constantly in production is what I mean to get at, which is to say any country loaning them one knows they aren't giving away something irreplaceable and precious either. And there is money for all involved in building and moving them, so it's a win-win. And given reports they're almost certainly to be trained on the F16, they will almost certainly receive the F16, some partners existing variant.
UK could train Ukrainian pilots within two years time according to ret.Air Marshal Greg Bagwell,as I said last night it could be several years down the line before ukraine sees Western aircraft.
It's not happening in weeks ,years
You Linked to a story about Bahrain receiving their first delivery of a potential 12 billion dollar deal penned in 2017/18 which has no bearing on ukraine
Oh, nothing.
I'm sure they're training on the Abrams just for a little R&R from the battlefield too.
They're definitely not getting the US variant. We don't share those.
Based off what and from who exactly
I stand by what I say 100% and that's never going to change,
Remind me who as actually said That they are sending F16s to Ukraine,
So far nobody, this isn't mothballed tanks from the 70s/80s
Definitely they are getting a variant.
I'm reminded that Lockheed already has its new production facilities for F16s operational down the road from me
If my Auntie had balls she would be my Uncle.
US President Joe Biden told G7 leaders the United States will support training Ukrainian pilots on F-16 fighter jets that could be supplied to Kyiv, a senior White House official has said.
Ukraine is seeking the US-made jets as it seeks to press on with its biggest advance for months against invading Russian troops before a planned counteroffensive.
It says the F-16s are far more effective than Soviet-era jets it currently has.
Mr Biden told G7 leaders that decisions on when, how many and who will provide the jets, built by Lockheed Martin, will be made in the coming months while training is under way.
The training will be conducted in Europe.
@Gatling
Man, what a hill to die on and be so wrong!
Ill repeat for the 3rd time today, its not a question on if F-16s will be given to Ukraine its a question of when.
