It's doable out to 160 km ,
Why would they keep it quiet,
Without the jets, Ukraine is having to improvise, officials say. Defense officials and congressional staffers told CNN that Ukrainian troops have in recent weeks used the US-made Patriot air defense system to shoot down at least one faraway Russian fighter jet. The Russian jets have largely been staying behind Russian defensive lines, making them difficult for Ukraine to target with shorter-range systems like NASAMs.
I'm surprised that news flew under the radar (no pun intended) I guess only 1 patriot battery is in Kyiv and the other a lot closer to the Frontline as I would have expected.
I think you've got the flags backwards?
With Bakhmut looking like it will fall soon were the Ukrainian counter attacks on the flanks to ensure they'd have a smooth withdrawal when the time comes?
Really?
One if the most reliable guns ever made is "not that great"?
I fired one (47) and then an AR15 just after, the AR is a much better feeling gun. I didn't like it at all, everything felt a bit vague and cheap, especially compared to the AR and other ones I was using.
Anyway, a bit off topic, apologies.
I own an AK-74, a surprisingly pleasant and fun weapon to shoot. Ammo is a bit hard to come by these days, though. I suspect it's all going to a certain fairly large Eastern European country.
The AK-47, however, I have little time for. Don't like it.
🙄🙄
Oh yes they are ,not perfect though the front and rear ladder sights are to close together to shoot accurately out to range compared to an AR 15 type platform, terrible on full auto your not hitting the broad side of a transit van with one ,but still deadly on semi,a fairly robust compared to some Western equivalents.
More of a H&K or Sig fan myself
I wouldn't bother keeping an AK, they're not that great.
Hans Gruber comes to mind
Gaddafi comes to mind......
I'd have to keep a AK or two and a Makarov pistol everything else can be forwarded to ukraine,
When do we start,😁
He must not have executed them if they were still around to treat him. 😀
Stalin shot so many people on a whim, that in his final hours, no medic wanted to treat him they were so terrified. He had executed several of them previously, and no one wanted to be next.
Wait....
I've got an idea. (A terrible one but am idea none the less)
1. We pretend to be the Ra.
2. Accept all Russian weapons and long range sh1te.
3. We thank them.
4. We send the stuff to Ukraine to use against the Russians.
5. Profit.
It's these absolute scum he's talking about:
I read somewhere that the designer of some soviet WW2 aircraft that broke up in combat due to some fault was shot on Stalin's orders!
My mother used to always say "you'll catch your death" if I left the window open. I'm only realising now she was undercover KGB.
Died in hospital imagine that ,
Bet someone left a window open
Anatoly Maslov's arrest was in June 2022.
Alexandr Shiplyuk was arrested in August 2022
Valery Zvegintsev's arrest seem to be more recent.
A fourth scientist that worked with them, Dmitry Kolker, was arrested and accused of treason in June 2022 after giving a lecture in China. He was accused of giving information to the Chinese, even though the FSB had vetted and passed the content of his lecture.. He died in hospital in Moscow in July 2022.
Sky News reported on the arrests yesterday as if they were all recent, and seemed to be tying them to the apparent shooting down of the Kinzhal missiles, but it appears to be unrelated to that.
Wonder if Mary Lou would endorse the following....
Alexa, play Angel
!!!
Both are in Kiev I believe, not seen the other battery,it could be deployed or being kept in reserve incase one is lost, you wouldn't know
I wonder if they have Patriot anti missiles in Odessa?
Interestingly enough from sky news
Or "real patriots never miss".
You could write pages and pages about others who faced the same fate over the last 100 years in Russia,
Lucky for us the likes of Ukrainan Igor Sirkorsky emigrated to the states before introducing the world to the modem helicopter
Lol. It's your fault our hyped up **** missile is ****.
Generously, they might have skunked a whole launcher etc. worth $10M but the patriot system is designed to be unmanned, and decentralized, even if they got a clean kill on 1 component, theres many others. So yeah, we might never hear which component was hit. I thought it would be the radar given a-rad tracking on missiles. But if it's working again already, that's probably not the case.
