Clerical Offcier 2023 open for everywhere except Dublin - which has its own panel from last year
details below
Just looked up the timeline from the info they sent originally...interviews start June for "Batch 1"
@Mairead16 Yep I had seen that but June is a broad timescale, that could be the 1st or the 30th. It has taken 2-3 weeks in the past for results going by previous threads
@Spilly123 Hopefully nearer the 1st and get the process moving along!
No, you are given one choice and if you turn it down you're removed from the panel, you might be able to beg PAS and hope for the best but i wouldnt expect anything if you get AGS.
IIRC you can reject mobility offers twice before being forced to wait for longer but those aren't relevant until you have 2 years work in your position.
@pygmaliondreams thanks for reply
I work in AGS for over 3 years and I love it
@2016claire thats great it’s just the changing to public service that I’d be concerned about
Wondering to secure a clerical officer job ,what education qualifications are needed and /or what work experience in a particular enviroment is benefical to securing a position
can anyone reply if there is Aptitude tests this year?
I'd say any general customer service experience is good because it lets you hit the points in the competencies within the document that you receive from PAS.
Obviously clerical and administrative work is most ideal but I had less than 6 months clerical experience and years within busy cafes and I was fine. Having just a leaving certificate is fine, it might slow progression past HEO if you dont have a degree but there are people much higher on the ladder with nothing but a LC and plenty of experience working.
Hi
Just a wee bit confused looking at my submitted applications on Public Jobs.
It says that highlighted applications are those that are not yet completed, but it says 'Submitted' on the application status..
Is it showing the same on everyone else's?
Yep mine is showing the same
Strange. Mine are closed, none in the open section. I did my test the day it opened, Monday, in the morning. Maybe the tests are checked individually and they haven't come to yours yet. If you have doubts make contact with them.
Had you any course done besides the leaving cert like after school was it straight to work in cafe
Thank you. I should mention that the first screenshot was taken after I completed the questionnaires last week.
I logged into my Public Jobs.ie profile just there now just to check it out, and both questionnaires under CO 2023 Part A & Part B are under My Applications - Closed. (As shown above) Is everyone else's showing the same?
No, but I was in the middle of an administration office course
That’s what mine is showing as now
Do interview results generally issue by post or by email?
Everything is electronic now afaik, I received everything via email including the contract.
Thank you :)
Interview results usually issue via the MessageBoard on Public Jobs. Same as for assessment questionnaire results for Stage 1.
How hard is it to fail the interview?
If you prepare well, come up with sample answers to interview questions well in advance of the interview date you should pass. 😊
@2016claire hope u don't mind me asking if u have WFH option & flexi times. I'm just waiting on a start date for AGS
Morning, yes we have flexi time and WFH option available, however it depends what section you are going to. You will like it . 😀
@2016claire does the change to public service concern you or can you move? Thanks
Hi everyone,
Just got email about a hour ago or so, to log into my public jobs account for Stage 2 Expression of Interest..it was for Cork but I have Cork down as my second preference and Kerry is my first preference...so I'm holding out for Kerry.
Just to let to any Cork folk on here that information and to everyone else to let them know that public jobs have gone to next stage to expression of interest stage.
Good luck everyone!
Good luck
Thanks for that. I put down Kerry as first preference and Limerick as second preference. When you say you are holding out for you think you will get another email for Kerry is it ?
I would imagine so, I herd from someone in the Killarney civil service that they are quite short on people and they need people so it gives me hope!
This expression of interest is before Interview stage, is it?
