You are correct, I demeaned Chamberlain who hoped that his efforts would benefit his country whilst Trump is only about short term gain for Trump. Yep, the word "communism" in the US doesn't have any real meaning. It's just a buzz-word that people like Trump and DeSantis use in order to scare people that don't even understand what communism is. Trump's favourite phrase lately has been "the radical Marxist left" and you can be absolutely damn sure that he has no idea what that even means. It just sounds impressive to his average voter.

That he or his base cannot or do not define these words is kind of the point of them. They can mean whatever the hearer want them to mean, just so long as they have a negative connotation. Really, what's nearly more surprising is that he's not using more of these types of words, or wedge Critical Race Theory somewhere in there.
I saw Beau of the Fifth Column claim that Trump cannot win another term on the basis of his current rhetoric (which is basically Trump as always, but more so), but people need to be keeping an eye on what officials are getting elected nationwide in the U.S.A. . Trump and his cronies will invariably try to usurp power in some way if Trump is able to contest another presidential election and fails to win fairly, so all those in a position to overturn state election results in the purple states could end up being under the microscope. You know that the strategists behind Trump have this plan up their sleeve, and it was already mooted as something Trump would try (and did try!) in 2020.
