Did you get in touch with them, or did they contact you?
They wouldn't be first company to be difficult over consumer rights, I had arguments with Microsoft in the past over warranty rights that are 2 years versus the 1 year in they advertised. My own experience of problems tends to be with US companies.
Maybe I’m just used to Financial Services where anything even marginally close to what Tesla are doing would have you in serious hot water with the Central Bank within no time at all.
Either way, it’s not exactly desirable behaviour and I think the cop out of ‘our staff don’t have the required knowledge to appropriately advise our customers in a country we sell in because they’re based in a different country’ is completely ridiculous.
My parents also got the message to pick a date and time for their blue M3 LR. Dates on offer 16th-19th and 22/23rd.
I messaged the Tesla support team on chat asking if they were flexible on collection dates. Was told that I will have a 7 day window to collect car but when I mentioned that I would likely be out of the country during the dates I was given (Jun 12-27) I was told I had 2 options 1) Delegate collection (not an option for me). 2) Collect during the allocated 7 day window. If I was unable to do either my slot/car would be re-allocated and I would go back on the waiting list.
WTF?
They texed me I orderd on 25 Jan paid in full three weeks ago
Of course you can cancel, similar to the "fire sale" issue a while back. You are not after receiving the product you ordered.
Do you mind me asking why ? I have paid half and have a M3 LR on order with the same issue but even though the wait is painful I cant see any otger car that comes close for the price so waiting it out.
It was May 12th - 27th; pushed back initially from May 4th - 19th
the issue here is most likely that Tesla will never extend beyond a quarter end (June 30th) because of their financial reporting. Sale of car can only be reflected as Revenue once vehicle is "Delivered" to customer regardless of whether it is paid in full. This is the situation every quarter. I hope you can get someone to collect and wish you well.
Got the text also to arrange collection and like that I will be out of the country. I replied to the text, as it says to do, and haven't heard anything back yet so will have to wait and see.
They got it right for all but performance models. Still problems with performance model pricing. I’m really tired of this. Speaking to revenue today and I told them I’ll be getting onto the minister for finance if this isn’t sorted by Monday lunchtime. But Another waiting game for next week I’m thinking.

You are comparing something that’s governed by the central bank rules or financial services to an EU law on distance selling rules.
It’s also stated on the website when you order. Or would you blame the consumer for entering into a contract without reading the T&C’s?
Apple the same. I had to quote eu law for a speaker that died on an iPhone after 4 years. They then fixed it for free. so certainly seems to be US companies not used to that level of protection to the consumer.
Does anybody know if one activates the 2 front tweeters + 2 front surround speakers with one of those wiring kits for a 2023 M3RWD will it void the warranty?
If they find it yes. Especially in and around the elections warranty.
I had new dampers on the rear boot of the M3. It’s a 2020 car so no auto open or close. These make the boot pop up when you click the button. Ranger said I’d remove them if I was you. If it comes in for something relating the boot and they see it they could step back from it citing modification.
When you see this does it means it's time to pay, or does one wait until you are offered pick up date?
Or does this need to be done first before a pick up date is offered?

This is just next step in journey and it is your choice whether to pay now or wait. Most people wait until they are offered a delivery date before making final payment and dates are usually offered whether full payment has been made or not so it’s difficult to say whether paying now will influence earlier date.
Might be worth doing a test transfer of €1 or whatever to ensure that your bank transfer is all set up ok.
AIB need you to use their code card reader device to set up a new payee for example.
But yeah, most people wait for a delivery date first.
Went to Baldonnell today to see if my reg number was on the car no luck. However, it seem they only had LR models in M3 and MY, about sixty cars their today.
Mine were only printed when I got to the desk to pick up the car. They had only registered the car an hour before I arrived.
