The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom – Coming May 12th, 2023 – Nintendo Switch
The title for the sequel to The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild has been revealed! The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom will launch on Nintendo Switch May 12th, 2023.
Kotaku did an article telling people to pirate Metroid Dread. Think they even gave instructions on how to do it.
Oddly Nintendo didn't approve.
@RobbingBandit said above you can get the digital version at midnight tonight and jump in right away. 👍
Why isn't this cross platform? Such a waste having Zelda games on poor hardware.
Or it might be up on other regions eshops already as it's May 12 in Oceania and soon south east Asia.
Unless you mean pirato version then sorry bub we don't do that round here.
Mine is in the hands of the amazon prime gods. WFH tomorrow and hope it turns up. I will then be waiting until 5pm to play it.
Probably so they can sell it at 60 for the rest of the console's life, not to mention strong-arming you into dropping 300+ on the console itself which they're selling a healthy profit as it's aged tech and Nintendo seem to be the only ones capable of consistently making it sing. Guessing it's an easier sell to shareholders than season passes, other such nonsense and having in the bargain bin this time next year.
Normally a comment like this I would delete, because it is frankly a trolling comment.
However, there is merit in leaving it up, serving as an example to all of what a stupid question looks like.
Digital details.
How is it stupid. If you love games surely you want to see them at their best. Washed out graphics that are not even HD in 2023 and 30fps. Nonsense.
Mine arrived from Smyths!
Digital Foundry says it runs great so you will be fine on switch unless you just want to be contrarian?
I have a 77 inch G3 LG OLED and love games. I want the best experience and its a shame I cant it.
So you want Zelda on Playstation? That's why it is stupid....
Has anyone who preorderd an in store pickup from smyths gotten an email off them yet? Haven't heard anything since placing the preorder two months ago
I've preordered instore pickup(like an idiot). The preorder email says it will be ready when you get the email. So they won't go out until tomorrow morning.
They'll hold em for 2 days
Anyone that really loves games will be able to play Starfox on the SNES and still love it in all its 15 FPS glory.
A solid 30 FPS has been proven to be good enough and DF article notes that it is pretty much solid 30 FPS. Choppy 30 isn't but again DF says it's pretty much solid. 60 FPS would be nice but hey, even PS5 games don't run at that with full ray tracing and many have frame pacing issues or choppy frame rates.
This is such a daft way to look at games. Graphics do not, and have never, made a game. The gameplay is what makes it and Nintendo's main titles are generally flawless in that department.
Does the same logic follow for movies? You enjoy watching them on a phone or on vhs?
If you're picking up something in person from Smyths you usually get a text or email after the stores close the day before release (i.e. today) confirming it's ready to go.
I can still enjoy Black and White movies or movies with dated special effects.
I like watching VHS on my phone 👜
Wow.

Playing Zelda on a tv on a switch is not even close to comparing watching a movie on a phone.
Asking why this isn't cross platform is also one of the dumbest things I've read.
Same reason last of us, halo etc aren't cross platform.
Not all good news. Eurogamer were not a fan or these guys.

4/5 on Eurogamer and then some shite website no one has ever heard of 🤣
Reports coming up that Aonuma is said to be inconsolable, curled up in foetal and muttering "gfinityesports" repeatedly.
I saw it referenced elsewhere that BOTW was a dev tech demo to what TOTK is.
Can't say I disagree, I'm way more engaged with TOTK.
Eurogamer review is very positive with the one caveat that there's too much stuff to collect and there's a bit of repetition. Review reads very positively. DF was very positive as well about the game.
Eurogamer were incredibly positive?
