Collected Model Y yesterday and naively expected tow hitch that I ordered and paid for weeks ago would be fitted... no sign of it when I got to see the car in the West. If I'd known I would have left car in Dublin to get hitch fitted. Looking in the app, I can't find any record (other than our invoice) that we have a tow hitch that needs to be fitted. I've emailed Tesla but would appreciate any other tips!
Look under the boot floor for the hitch. As far as I know they expect you to fit it yourself, but the wiring and all should be already done behind the bumper?
Was on chat this morning myself with Eddy. We have an EDD of 19 May - 3 June. Was told our car is in transit but no exact location is available. Didn’t ask about delivery date but hopefully will be in that batch from 20th if my EDD is accurate.
Thanks @josip . No sign of the hitch in the storage area under the boot floor and I can't see any evidence of wiring, but I wonder if this could be hidden. There are plastic inserts in bumper where hitch and plug would be... I could try to pry these off. I'll take a closer look.
Tow hitch afaik can be fitted by Ranger at the convenience of your home, if not already installed.

I think they have rangers throughout the country.
I very much doubt it’s as easy as reply to an email. I know from dealing with statutory requests from government departments that there’s a process to follow.
I doubt hang info sent in yesterday would be updated over night without been vetted first.
Revenue down the same last September /October on Kia. Revenue couldn’t differentiate between the K3 and K4 models of the Niro and because of that, the K4 cars sat in the port for near 2 months.
It’s obviously a tennis match between the 2 with regards to info requests, I agree with that but I don’t think it’s as easy as you make it out to be to simply reply and sorted overnight in one go. I’d say there’s a few steps to getting it sorted.
For me the hitch was in a case in the frunk. The gubbins at the back is all hidden behind a plastic cover that needs to be pried out with 2 flat screwdrivers or similar. Start at the top right as you look at it.

Did you buy a car with a hitch or buy the hitch separately from the Tesla shop. If part of the car it will be installed and in the frunk as some have said. If not then a ranger will need to install.
No. Registration will start tomorrow on these model affected. Latest Friday
When I collected mine it was in a grey bag in the frunk.

I can only quote on the last stock that arrived into Baldonnell some weeks back. If your car was on that shipment you will get it soon. They also need to clear that stock for the next shipment
Due to collect tomorrow and received a call to delay my collection from the morning until the afternoon as something was found that they are not quite happy with.
A frantic phone call later and apparently there is an issue with the tailgate and they are going to replace it tomorrow, the whole tailgate!!
Not sure what to make of the whole thing as they couldn't confirm why it needed to be replaced, either way it seems a bit extreme unless there is some serious cosmetic damage to it.
I assume it was in the last batch, since i got my vin couple of weeks ago. Initially marked for 19th May - 03rd June. Then pushed between 13th -27th June.

For those with orders & not yet allocated a hidden VIN or a narrower estimated delivery date - below is taken from shipping thread on Tesla Motors Club forum. Cut off for Q2 shipment to meet delivery by end of June is fast approaching, so has implications here in terms of grants:
“Whilst writing, I think it worth noting that we are entering the final fortnight with what I regard will be the cut-off for UK shipments in Q2. I would expect that if the UK is to receive another shipment in Q2 it will have departed Shanghai by 24 May. This will be true for shipments to Zeebrugge too however EU shipments to Barcelona and Koper get an extra 4 or 5 days before reaching their cut-off date. I do wonder whether these shipments will happen though - supply in EU/UK seems to have reached demand and there are other export markets for the RWD (and P?) MY that need to be supplied. Additionally a revamped Model 3 in Q3 may suppress further demand in Q2.”
IMO there might be price reduction for some inventory items to clear the stock before end of Q2. But I'm guessing the price increase (even though it's small) on M3/MY in US and China early this month could be a signal from Tesla that further blanket price cut would be less likely.
At this stage, I would rather take the car at its current price as soon as it's available, instead of awaiting another price cut which might trigger Revenue/VRT issues like those M3 orders and lead to further delay to push back the delivery date - potentially into July.
My EDD is also 13th -27th June. A rep in Sandyford confirmed my M3 is currently sitting in Zeebrugge so presumably when the current batch gets picked up by its new owners a shipment currently sitting in Zeebrugge, including my car, will make its way to Baldonnell
My EDD is 13-27 June. Tesla chat said my car is enroute from Shanghai but that’s as much info as I got.
Do you have a hidden VIN? I think those with a hidden VIN are already in Zeebrugge, and those without are still en route. With the same EDD though 🤷♀️
Yes I have a hidden vin (I think!). It’s such a quagmire trying to navigate the Tesla way!
I have no hidden VIN, but my car is in Zeebrugge.
HOEGH SHANGHAI will arrive in Zeebrugge on 25 May so by the time the ones in Baldonnell are handed over this ship will have unloaded and a KESS will probably take the 2 loads to Dublin

Arrived at 9:30 today to pick up my car. Appointment was at 10:30 but no issue arriving early. No one else there so was in and out in a few minutes. Guys there were super helpful and happy to help with any questions about the car.
Some small scratches around the wheel arch so raised a service request in the app and they'll come to my house in 2 weeks to fix.
Loving the car and definitely worth the wait and stress of the firesale!
