A glide bomb would be easier to detect than a dumb bomb because of its wings sticking out,because its more surface to reflect radar waves
And from there not cross section or deflection geometry but paint job too to absorb some of the wider iirc radar bands, several types being used for different detection methods.

I’ve seen the F35 production line in person and the way they use multi axis robot arms and attachments designed for each and every facet of the plane, a little bit at a time each attachment sprays the area of the hull that it’s designed to match perfectly and fully enclosed with to so there is no waste of what I am told is naturally a top secret formulation of paint that is very expensive. I don’t know if it’s more expensive than printer ink by volume, but let’s say it is. I didn’t sign an NDA for my visit so I think this information is already out there (it is, mould in place coating system)
the other thing was CAD, really come a long way since the F117, the geometry has the same benefits of geometric deflection but instead of there being a bunch large flats on the hill it’s quite smooth thanks to computer splining and interpolation math, so there is nary an angle in which a radar could be perpendicular with a large flat section of the plane even for a moment.
There’s an old report of an F117 being shot down and the cause seems to be its long range stealth didn’t hold up at short range and short wavelengths, when it engaged ground forces at close range they hit it with a shoulder launched missile iirc. That’s part you why they operated at night, if you saw them up there in the distance you could hone radar on them and pick up a lock.

Other materials absorb the waves by causing them to get "stuck" bouncing around on/below the surface - so planes may be coated/painted with these materials.
If you shape your aircraft very cleverly you can have it so radar waves mostly bounce away and never go back to a receiver.

The f117 shoot down was because the pilot left the bomb bay doors open and was detected at13 km with a p18 low frequency radar,the p18 have 250 km range.

Serbian's changed the wavelength of their short range AA detection radar (after info from the Russian's) to which the F-117 was not stealthy to... it was only for a short period of time and when hit at certain angles, but was long enough to lock and shoot a missile at it

Yeah the Senior Fellow at Lockheed didn't really wanna answer my questions about it, just begrudged that they got a lucky shot, went into nothing technical about the stealth fighter, that sly bastard.
Yes, it happened over Belgrade during the Kosovo crisis, but before he opened the bomb bay doors, he was spotted by a Serbian fighter who who gave his position as a guide when the Serbian radar could not see the stealth fighter, and told them to aim for a position relative to his own. Then the stealth fighter opened his bomb bay doors, and the rest is history, as they say!.

iirc as well it was at least the 2nd bombing run that had been made by that/other F117s in a short period, they were not reportedly alternating their heading or angle of attack, so the bombing run had a modicum of predictability to ground forces.

There was spotters all over the place they monitored the take offs of the aircraft,and from various landmarks to give the radar operators a visual location to scan ,
It's was never as simple as it was made out to be ,oh I turned on my radar and got a lock on and fired a missle or two with my Soviet era radar, there was always a fair amount of propaganda involved post bombing raids
