Don't the major manufacturers release new models in April / May time, maybe the old models go on sale then with the new models out. Must check back as I bought a pair of trainers earlier last year and then the sales came out about 2 weeks afterwards and I would have gotten much better value. I'll check my old mails and see when it was.
edit: it was 22nd April I bought a pair of magic speeds and then I think a sale happened soon afterwards and I think the takumi Sen 8 were on sale for nearly the same price...
Looked back on the thread and sales seems to have started in early June and some good bargain kicked in towards late June

Got two pair of speed 3 for 250 euro on 365rider. They were reduced to 150 with another 25% off if you bought 2 pair or something like that . A pair for me and a pair for himself . Also bought a pair of new balance fuel cell propel 4 for 90 bucks on alltricks . Somebody said they were similar the speed 3. Can’t remember my logic now . Oh yes I was waiting to get a good price on the speed 3!

Just be careful, they don't deliver to Ireland. I had a pair from them, and the coating on the lens started coming off, they replaced them for free no bother, had to use the An Post address pal service, in total, including customs came to €12-50. I got mine from amazon, you'll find them on warehouse deals there. In fairness they're cheap as chips for the quality.
