Here you go.
Has anyone received a start date for January yet?
Hi no unfortunately no start date yet. They seem to be very slow, current employer will not be getting much notice as can not resign until start date received and contract signed
Hi, Thanks for the reply. Yes it is very frustrating alright. Hopefully this week we might hear something.
Unusually it's 2 weeks notice they give for a start date. If I don't head anything by the second week of Dec, I'm just gona send a email
2 weeks notice is very unfair on current employer. Perhaps we should all email now and ask if they can confirm start date and forward contract
Has anyone received their contract yet
Does anyone know if there’s a thread for the 2023 competition? Invitations to interview were sent out yesterday no testing it seems just invite to interview based on shortlisting - unless they do testing after interview?
I couldn't find a thread for the 2023 competition either. Did you get a date for your interview?
I received an email for interview. No mention of aptitudes or anything.
Does anyone know about the mandatory training and diploma needed, is it all online, how much of a commitment is it outside of worn time? Is there assignments or just exams? Was looking for insight into what tax and compliance is like to work in also? Work life balance/overtime etc? Tia 😊
Training is the tax technician through the ITI across two years and then the Diploma through UL the year after, all while doing specific Revenue training as well. All online during working hours.
Thanks! So wouldn't be continuous assessment assignments just exams at the end?
Is it a big commitment from a study perspective would u think or very manageable? I just have a small child so evening study would be hard to manage on consistent basis if the course is very intense.
The ITI isnt too bad just 4 exams which they are now spreading out over 2 years one exam in April and August, no continuous assessment, however you will need to do some study outside work hours. The diploma is a bigger commitment some project work, some in class lectures usually Limerick or Dublin and more study in your own time before the exams, however plenty of people in my class with small children so it is manageable.
Really appreciate that info. I think the diploma isnt 100% required based off the info booklet so there is maybe a chance of avoiding that?
Anyone currently in the role, what is it like? Nice place to work or ?
Hi, I have an interview with Revenue for the open competition for EO tax, audit and compliance.
I can prepare examples relating to competencies.
Could anyone tell me where I can find the information to study in relation to tax, audit and compliance for specialist knowledge questions?
Any guidance would be most appreciated!!
Thank you!
😁

How did everyone’s interviews go?
Hard to tell. I think I passed it but I don't think I aced it. So I think I'll get on the panel but not place particularly high. It was my own fault as I didn't prepare as well as I should have and it was a fairly intense interview I thought!
Time will tell!
Completely agree, although I think I may have failed it, I found it quite difficult.
Do you think we will find out this week?
No idea. I know some others on here are interviewing this week so could be another while.
Awh ok.
Well best of luck!!
Any tips on anything particularly tricky they may have asked. I have my interview Wednesday 🙈
Had mine today but I feel they just cut you off a lot, very hard to get to comprehensively answer in full. So I presume them cutting you off after two sentences means you gave them what they want as opposed to cutting you off and you didnt get time to answer. Felt rattled after it.
I'm sure you aced it. They can cut you off to see how you cope under pressure too but also you may have given them what they wanted.
Did they ask you anything about compliance procedures? Or was it mainly just competency based questions?
I have two interviews tomorrow. Not looking forward to it
My interview is next week I’m dreading it tbh it’s a 45min team’s interview
Is this the last week of interviews?
I had mine last week and although it was tricky enough I felt the panel were very pleasant. Just remember they do actually want you to do well. Best of luck
Anyone know when the interviews are over and when results will be out?
Results are out I failed 1 competency by 5 marks
Can I just ask for the diploma is that just a one year diploma? So overall training is about 3 years?
