It speaks volumes of the success of insidious Russian propaganda that it has held on to all the radical leftists from the Cold War era and also cultivated the new furrows of conspiracy theorist far right radical elements as well. How it has achieved that I find difficult to understand. But is definitely one thing that has inexplicably really improved for Russian propaganda since the Cold War . And makes them a far more dangerous adversary than they were then.
just today I had to explain to an acquaintance that there is nothing really unusual about a “ comedian” leading Ukraine when you look at the likes of Arnold Schwarzenegger and Ronald Reagan and Donald trump etc achieving political success in America. He really thought “ something doesn’t add up” about Zelensky. But had absolutely nothing to back up what he meant. Just spouting something he saw on the internet. Straightforward typical Russian propaganda “Zelensky comedian “ angle .
The film maker Michael moore once drove a truck through the Deep South of America with the hammer and sickle emblazoned on the side to provoke a reaction as he “hauled a bunch of communism”. Would be interesting to see what reaction he would get today if he had a truck with a Russian Z on it. I would bet he would get a more favourable reaction.
Edit : found a video of it
it got set on fire as it went through Alabama
Seperated at birth..
Poles have already said they have no problem to NATO accession for Ukraine.
Soooooo
Maybe so, but the Ukrainian parliament Bandera tweet didn't go unnoticed in Poland either. Future slips ups like this need to be avoided, especially as the 80th anniversary of the start of these massacres is later this year.
Here's the original tweet now deleted. Who's the guy sitting in front of Banderas picture?
ok, all is clear with you. Master spoofer
it’s good to have a laugh every now and then ..
Don’t see Macron there though. He was over in China on business……
Um, there is a whole thread on this Victory parade in Current Affairs! I’m sure you will find all the details about it in there.
Since you are obviously reading and posting in the CA - how could you possibly miss the existence of that thread…….?
maybe because this is the only thread I read. Thanks for this info, heading that way now
No bother, glad to help. And …… give ‘em hell! *juggling some fresh eggs* :D
I would imagine they would be enthusiastic supporters of such a move.
aaaand I'm back. fcuk me, that is one hell of a thread! so much emotions, so powerful. All the sad cnuts that were cleaned off this thread all are there peddaling their dumb sh1t. the oldest fascist from this thread, suprisingly still not banned from here, is also there with the usual - how do you know they all are russians, how do you knwo they support putin, america did the same, yada yada. Yurt2 (remember that guy, used to be here too) is just litteraly blasting them Z-tards with his golden shower. lol. I hope there will be more than just me on Sunday opposing that scum over there in that Ind Estate. Gatling, why did you not just tell me about this thread?
Edit: nevermind, thread is closed now. Yurt2 got threadbanned again and all z-tards not. strange place this. Gards will be guarding fascists on Sunday and I will be risking an arrest for throwing eggs at z-tards.
3 day's for Russia to capture Bakhmut for victory day.
The Russian army proper, whatever survived the initial invasion has been doing their best to preserve their forces.
Since then they've allowed the prisoner army to wipe themselves out, thousands of untrained conscripts to take the hit and Wagner to do the heavy lifting around Bakhmut.
But Ukraine is wearing down all these elements and if Wagner pull out of Bakhmut the regular army will take increased losses around here instead.
Would Wagner pull out of Bakhmut, considering they have captured 90 percent of the city or whatever? If Prigozhin genuinely has ambitions for the leadership of Russia, it just sounds unlikely that he'd be running on the platform of being the guy who almost did it.
Anyway, yeah it's obviously a power play and all that, but running these kind of games in the middle of a shooting war is one of the things Putin could well rue.
Hard to gauge if Prigozhin is being honest with his threat to pull Wagner out of Bakmut, or if it’s just a ruse to trick Ukraine, Putin, or both.
One possibility I imagine is that he might realise that his personal army might not survive a well armed Ukrainian counter-attack and is trying to get ahead of it. Putin likely has no issues with Prigozhin destroying his only real card against him by letting his troops die in the ruins of Bakmut. But if Prigozhin can pull enough of them out in time, he might have the men & reasources to challenge Putin when the dominos start to fall in Russia.
If the Russian invasion fails badly enough to cripple Putin’s hold on power I don’t think a popular uprising will be what takes him out. It feel this will become an armed civil war, with warlords like Prigozhin vying for power. This is why I hope NATO is planning for the future containment of Russia should they get ejected from Ukraine. It will become a hellscape, and the victor (if any) will likely be no friend of the West.
Who are the Z-tards?
Fair play. Yeah there is only one kind of Russian who will be attending that parade, in this current geopolitical environment - the 'Z' supporting kind. I think simple mockery is probably the best reaction to them. Like blasting the Benny Hill music or something like that.
Kursk
"Z-tards"
Very classy as always, using insults that mock people with intellectual disabilities. Use of Retard and all its variants as an insult should be consigned to the dustbin.
Germany 1938-
Zidiots is a bit less provocative to some people who take umbradge when the word retard is used.
Interesting theory on why Wagner appear to be pushed aside at Bakhmut.
I think everything with Prigozhin is a performance. He actually understans propaganda and the Russian information system very well (He did after all run a troll-farm). He likely realised that he wasn't going to capture Bakhmut fully by May 9th so is diverting the blame to those at the top of the Russian MoD.
Wagners tactics have been to pulverize their target with artillery, then send in waves of ground troops. If the ground troops are wiped out by defenders then fire off another barrage of artillery. Rinse and Repeat. This is the Georgy Zhukov method of fighting from WWII. It absolutely burns through men and artillery and obliterates the actual area being "secured" but if you have massive numerical superiority then it'll also grind down your enemy eventually.
The problem for Wagner is that there isn't as much artillery for anyone on the Russian side as there was last summer. If the artillery barrages are shorter but they use the same tactics then it inevitably means that more of their ground troops are killed. Wagner have also been cut off from their supply of prisoners, who were the ideal candidates to send in in the doomed early waves.
Will Prigozhin actually pull out on May 10th? Who knows. I suspect he won't and this is a high-stakes gamble to acquire more resources. If he doesn't get those and he pulls out then where is he going to go to? He could already be a dead man walking but his fate would likely be sealed completely then. Wagner may be semi-independent but it relies on Russia for men and materiel. He has nowhere else to go.
An overhead of the Pavlohrad strike that hit to-be-decommissioned rockets, possibly old landmines and rocket fuel (one or two posters were bizarrely taken in by Russian propaganda that this strike wiped out Ukrainian counter offensive arms and munitions)
Full details here
Wagner pulling out will mean Russian regulars take their place in bakhmut.
They could well not want to defend a counterattack and instead let the Army take the brunt of it.
They could also end up being committed to offensive actions elsewhere - if Russia have anything left to give after the Ukrainian offensive.
The Ukrainian themselves don't believe his claims, so probably best not to take prigozhin at his word
I don't think anyone claimed it wiped out the Counter offensive arms and ammunitions,
But it still hasn't been acknowledged the strike actually happened which suggests something important was hit ,
Oh there was at least one.
Unless I am getting confused here it was acknowledged
well, message delivered to the recipients succesfully.
There's also the little matter of will Prigozhin be allowed to pull his troops out? They used to have a ring of soldiers in the rear to prevent just such a move...but that was against poorly trained and equipped convicts and conscripts. Anyway, his pal Kadyrov has manfully promised to step in and fill the breach if Prigozhin decides to leave,
